Dude, I like Rihanna, she's very very hot, pretty and her songs are good but Beyoncé much is better as a singer. She has more experience, she's a way better singer, a better technique, she has a larger range and more power. Beyoncé is a REAL complete artist. I love Rihanna :) I was there at the 2008MMVAs also, I saw her during rehearsal but I never heard her sing...but I took a couple of pics of her in this outfit. I was so blessed to be given VIP wristbands in the stagebox, she came so close to me, I was in awe *__* ...lol it was one of the best days of my life :) ;Hopefully next year she'll make an appearance again!

She wasn't lipcynching the whole thing, but I think they can control how strong/loud the backing vocals are..it looks as though she needed more imput for that part of the song as it gets slightly harder to perform...just a guess though!

that could be it. And yes they can control how loud the background vocals are. She mightve needed them to insert a prerecorded line to catch her breath so she can sing with the chorus. thats not uncommon for the artist to with all the different harmonies & singing overlays.
