Heres some drummers that I consider amazing (Legends in their own right): Buddy Rich, Neil Pert, Zakir hussain, Stewart Copeland, Randy Castillo, John Bonham, Jojo Mayer, Mitch Mitchell, “ the king of flash” (Steve more), its not that I hate metal either, there are some phenomenal metal drummers likewise, However i really wouldn't consider any of the drummers mentioned phenomenal, but i will say they are skilled in their own niche!

Very Predictable, yes i can admit that they are very skilled, but amazing? Every drummer in this video sounded the exact same, they have little variance in dynamics, Everything is based around speed here, and because of that everything else is sacrificed. What about this is so Pheneomenal that I am missing? All the fills are basically the same, heavy double pedal throughout the entire song, nothing changes.

@Mrluxarus Brann Dailor smashes all those other fools cause he gets a huge sound out of his simple drum kit. He doesn't need all that shit on his drums to make them sound full. To get the same sound as those other guys. I'm not saying that those other guys don't kick-ass. I just think Brann cand do all the stuff the other guys were on a much smaller kit. Brann Dailor takes this one! He's the best drummer in this whole video, period. Just look at his kit, it's amazing! Simple and smashing! 4 toms, 3 cymbals, 2 kick-pedals a high-hat and snare. @KershawLover Losch has done some great work with BOO. I think he is much better all around than Jason and Chris. I would also say he's more technically proficient than Brann, but Brann is a very talented drummer He plays less to accomplish more.  Mastodon needs a primal drummer for a savage sound.

As for Derek, he has more versatility and an equivalently huge level of complexity in his parts. Having said that, he is older. But Losch's posture is so poor, he'll be forced to quit before long.

nah man, Dave Grohl might play anything super crazy, but he's a very solid drummer. other than that, some licks he put on songs are what defines the song, like "In Bloom" , not a very hard song, but the drumming is memorable and fitting. Song of the Dead also shows how solid Dave's chops are. just saying, don't hate Dave. Every drummer has their own way.

@m0410450 Sometimes its more about playing to the song than showboating. Thats the drummer that i think are awesome are the ones that play to the song. Danny Carey is one of the greatest at this in my opinion. Morgan Rose, Tomas Haake, Brann Dailor, Jason Bittner.... even Joey plays to the song. Some songs you can just tell the emotion and shit doesnt match the rest of the song.
