Now personally I was never impressed with them because if I'm going to go into decades past, I'll listen to the Classic Gospel, that inspired the Blues, of which those bands were an imitation. Such bands are great when it comes to playing guitar, but they SUCK as vocalists compared to their predecessors
I should also add that if one knows anything about this band/Church they know that their goal has never been to appear cool. That isn't possible while offering SINCERE worship. they simply enjoy a particular style of music so they incorporate it into their worship.
By the way, are you one of those people who are more focused on God than on what's popular?
Jesus Culture is not simply "Rock", it's style is whatever is appropriate to the song. This is actually more of a Pop song. If you want a pure Rock song look up "Where You Go I Go". Other songs from them are "Praise and Worship" in style (e.g. I Exalt Thee).
Dang they're good ;) they just need to look a little more energetic...this is a upbeat sung it looks like and they don't look like they make it seem as upbeat as it is if you are just listening to the audio XD

I hope that the people listening in that conference really know what they are singing about. It is easy to sing along and to lift you hands and close your eyes.. but to really know God, not just emotionally but with your mind, soul, strength, etc... that's different. I think when we ask the 'kids' there who God is, I think they only can name the love, but have no idea what holiness, righteousness, etc is... I hope I am wrong...!
