@71nasta Just for the record. The true ancient name of Saranda Is "ONHEZEM" which means in the old Illyrian language...(probably nothing, but sure it's not a GREEK name!). The city changed its medioval name "Skele" to "Saranda" refering to the 40 Saints by 1927. This name was given to the city during the greek invasion of the Alexandros Zaimis' nationalist troops of south Albania.

The true story is: Aleks Matrenga from Tepelena was a "komit" and he agreed with the other "komiti" from Delvina, Mihal Dharina and Lefter Haxhijani together with the suliots to fight against Ali Pasha...and everybody knows how the story ended.( Ali killed everybody! Some of them fled to Cameria and created there the little new Delvina town).

οι αρβανιτες της ελλαδος ηταν ορθοδοξοι και μαχονταν εναντια στους τουρκαλβανους που ειναι οι προγονοι των σημερινων αλβανων.επισης ανθρωπολογικα αρβανιτες με αλβανους δεν εχου καμια σχεση.
παντως, απ οτι ξέρω, οι αρβανίτες εχουν ελληνική συνείδηση, οτι καταγωγή κι αν ειχαν οι προγονοι τους! αυτο δενσημαινει οτι πρεπει ναξεχναν τη μητρικήτους γλωσσα, ομως, γιατι ειναι πολιτισμικος πλούτος και η κληρονομιά των δικών τους! πρεπει ναναι περηφανοι για αυτην!
γιατι στην Αυλονα κηματισε η Αλβανικη συμεα για 1η φορα? γιατι η 1η προτεβουσα της Αλβανιας ηταν η Αυλονα?μονο μια απαντιση υπαρχει, γιατι ειναι μια εξισωση 1ου βαθμου,η Αλβανικη ηπειρος ειναι η καρδια της Αλβανιας η οποια εχει τους ποιο περυφανους Αλβανους.
Αν το Δελβινο και οι α.Σαραντα ειναι Ελληνικα γιατι οι παπουδες μου δεν ξερουν Ελληνικα?(ενω ειμαστε γηγενεις) ,και γενικα γιατι το 1ο Αλβανικο σχολιο ανιξε στην Κοριτσα (πριν το 1912),
γιατι μεχρι τοτε δεν επιτρεπονταν τα ελληνικα σχολεια ειτε δεν υπηρχε η υποδομη ν αχτιστουν.το ρολο αυτο τον ειχε αναλαβει η εκκλησια.οι παππουδες σου δε μιλουσαν ελληνικα διοτι η περιοχη καυοικειτο και απο αλβανους,απλα η πλειοψηφια ηταν ελληνες.
Ουτε τα Αλβανικα επιτρεπωνταν να ανιξουν... το σχολιο αυτο το ανιξαμε μετα απο μεγαλο αγωνα, και υστερα μας το εκλησαν.Οσο για την γλωσσα που μιλουσαν τοτε ,να σου θημισω οτι τα Αλβανικα μιλονταν μεχρι την Αθηνα(και ομιλουντε και συμερα κυριως στην πλακα της Αθηνας)
οταν ο οθωνας ειχε αυτην την απορια,οι ''αλβανοι''ηταν ακομα λαος χωρις εθνικη συνειδηση και συμμαχουσε καθε φορα με οποιον τον συνεφερε,οπως οι τουρκοι.
Αν οι Αλβανοι δεν ειχαν εθνικη συνειδηση τοτε,συμερα δεν θα μιλουσαν Αλβανικα.Προδοτες ειπηρχαν παντου ,αλλα ζουσαν και αυτοι που πρωσπαθουσαν να διατιρισουν το Αλβανικο στειχοιο.Βλεπε Naim Frasheri,για το αν ειχαν οι Αλβανοι εθνικη συνειδηση η οχι...

@71nasta Just for the record. The true ancient name of Saranda Is "ONHEZEM" which means in the old Illyrian language...(probably nothing, but sure it's not a GREEK name!). The city changed its medioval name "Skele" to "Saranda" refering to the 40 Saints by 1927. This name was given to the city during the greek invasion of the Alexandros Zaimis' nationalist troops of south Albania.

hahaha...the lyrics are funny. The lyrics have nothing to do with the original story why this song was created. The true story is: Aleks Matrenga from Tepelena was a "komit" and he agreed with the other "komiti" from Delvina, Mihal Dharina and Lefter Haxhijani together with the suliots to fight against Ali Pasha...and everybody knows how the story ended.( Ali killed everybody! Some of them fled to Cameria and created there the little new Delvina town).

@georgeosgr The copy I was talking about is the copy which my grandfather used to sing in each family gathering with the other parents via isopolifonia. I am from Korca by the way and I can sure you that the copy I was talking about is very old and is talking about the reaction of Delvina and Cameria people against the Turk invasion! This is an original creation of Albanian people. That's why is preserved in centuries through generations!

@juvetirona Epirotan comes from the Greek APEIRO TAN which in ancient greek means vast land. Epirotans were mostly Mollosians which are a greek tribe. So Pyrrus, their king, was also a Greek. γιατι στην Αυλονα κηματισε η Αλβανικη συμεα για 1η φορα? γιατι η 1η προτεβουσα της Αλβανιας ηταν η Αυλονα?μονο μια απαντιση υπαρχει, γιατι ειναι μια εξισωση 1ου βαθμου,η Αλβανικη ηπειρος ειναι η καρδια της Αλβανιας η οποια εχει τους ποιο περυφανους Αλβανους.

Αν το Δελβινο και οι α.Σαραντα ειναι Ελληνικα γιατι οι παπουδες μου δεν ξερουν Ελληνικα?(ενω ειμαστε γηγενεις) ,και γενικα γιατι το 1ο Αλβανικο σχολιο ανιξε στην Κοριτσα (πριν το 1912),

γιατι μεχρι τοτε δεν επιτρεπονταν τα ελληνικα σχολεια ειτε δεν υπηρχε η υποδομη ν αχτιστουν.το ρολο αυτο τον ειχε αναλαβει η εκκλησια.οι παππουδες σου δε μιλουσαν ελληνικα διοτι η περιοχη καυοικειτο και απο αλβανους,απλα η πλειοψηφια ηταν ελληνες.

Ουτε τα Αλβανικα επιτρεπωνταν να ανιξουν... το σχολιο αυτο το ανιξαμε μετα απο μεγαλο αγωνα, και υστερα μας το εκλησαν.Οσο για την γλωσσα που μιλουσαν τοτε ,να σου θημισω οτι τα Αλβανικα μιλονταν μεχρι την Αθηνα(και ομιλουντε και συμερα κυριως στην πλακα της Αθηνας)

οταν ο οθωνας ειχε αυτην την απορια,οι ''αλβανοι''ηταν ακομα λαος χωρις εθνικη συνειδηση και συμμαχουσε καθε φορα με οποιον τον συνεφερε,οπως οι τουρκοι.

Μαλλον δεν ειδες Ναιμ Φρασερι(και δεν ειναι σχετικα προσφατα) ο οποιος εχει ιχνος πατριοτησμου...
Η 1η Αλβανικη γραφη εμφανιστηκε τον 13ο αιωνα μ.χ απο τον Μπουζουκου,και οχι τον 20ο που γραφεις... λιγοτεροι 'ή περισωτεροι ειπηρχαν και οι επαναστατες.
