Very nice and just brilliant movie. 'Space Cowboys' is in my top favorite space movies of the 2000's (along with Mission to Mars, Supernova, Starforce, Moon, Pandorum and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy). Clint Eastwood was brilliant as always and Tommy Lee Jones character's death was sad but so beautiful and touching. Really wonderful film!!!

Toby is stunning as a younger version of Clint Eastwood. Maggie Smith was certainly very proud. A talented and handsome son. I wonder whose idea that was.

@TheUnforgivenRebel I think it's a great idea. Toby Stephens mimics Clint very well, optics are nice. So many non-american actors work in the USA characterizing americans: Hugh Laurie, Alex O'Loughlin, Ryan Kwanten, Robert Pattinson. I don't see what's wrong with that :)

@TheUnforgivenRebel Probably yes, than again to dub all the main characters with the voices of the maturer ;) actors was decided for another reason. I cannot decide if Toby is not be able to do an american accent or Clint's in particular since English is not my native tongue and I never heard Toby Stephens trying to.

I like both actors very much. Have you read anything about how they got along?

@NoldorianElf No I haven't, but Clint Eastwood has the reputation of being a very warm director who treats his cast very well.

About the accent, there are many americans accents but in most of them, the R tends to be pronounced very deep in throat and they usually mention it at the end of the words... like "Better" they don't even say the T at the middle of the word, they say "Berer" while most of english (and germans) would say "Bettah". That's just a detail.

@NoldorianElf Again about the accents... I can't recognize Clint's accent, I've been to southern USA and I've heard what they call a "southern accent" which is very funny and easy to imitate... but there are more.

I think the voice over on these guys is great. The guy playing young Clint is perfect.  Does the looks just like Eastwood. The young Tommy Lee Jones is synced pretty well with the voice but that actor doesn't look like Tommy Lee Jones as much as the other guy looks like Clint. Still a pretty cool movie trick...

tommy lee jones was in yet another military movie (i think called rules of engagement) where at the beginning he played a young LT in combat, but obviously looked almost the same age as when he is a colonel (kernal)

Interesting method of how to portray old characters when they are young. Giving them similar-looking young actors with voice overs of the older actors (sounding a bit younger and more energetic).
