@jotaro1234 There is a more recent video of Tianwa Yeung in Youtube. Just type in " Caprice Basque, Op.24 (Sarasate, Pablo de) by Tianwa Yang " Enjoy! :)
Anyway: passion is signed not just by the face... there are too much way in which you can demonstrate passion. Her passion is not demonstrated by the face, but by the way the plays. Great work.
no ma io sono una persona, e sta quà (accento sulla "à", ti starai anche dilpomando ma l'italiano lo devi imparare comunque), oggettivamente, che questa si chiama invidia.
Well, Perlman played the Mendelssohn violin concerto when he was only 13 years old!! Having that level of virtuosity at such a young age makes him worthy of being one of the greatest violinists of all time.
And wait! This little girl is going to grow up and show give the world one more great violinist. I hope she will make it up there! There were many like here who never reached the top... This one is real talant!
I'm not an expert, but one of the best violinists I've heart is Nathan Milstein. And probably Bach was an excelent violinist (beside being the best organist ever)
These caprices are written for many different instruments. They are among the most difficult pieces ever! These pieces ARE technical, they really weren't written for musicality, I think.
I think she's great, but I wish she wouldn't let the technique of the piece get in the way of the piece and make it sound burdened. Every time it's a big chord or a hard one, she takes extra time and it stops the flow. That's all.
This video is a demonstration for the Bejing Conservatorium. She was 14 at the time, playing on a Nicolo Gagliano 1752 violin, 6 times China Violin Comeptition winner since age of 5, student of Prof. Lin who's students are First Prize winners of Paganini, Tchaikovsky etc. competitions. This girl is wonderful AND, she is normal, a regular kid. She is very popular in China. I think, because this is a educational video, she doesn't move as freely as she would usually.
Actually, she's using a chinese violin and nowadays, it is NORMAL for students who get into Curtis or Juilliard or Hannover, or the other Hoschules to play all the caprices by 16 or the time to enter conservatory. Check out Vamos's little students -- all of them finish paganini... but then there is always Ernst polyphonic etudes HAHA! eek.
Yeah, it is quite amazing how she is able to master all 24 carpices by the age of 16. I mean,i play violin myself and i've been playing for around 3-4 years and i cant even play 1 let alone half of any of paganini's caprices!
Damn, why does she play this so fast/boring? Playing this caprice fast doesn't make it anymore exciting, in fact, it makes it less exciting. There's also no phrasing or dynamics. Anybody know a good video of this caprice on youtube? Oh and sanjak, how in anyway does this sound like a viola?
This guy or gal is just screaming for attention. He is on every video of her's commenting on the bloody obvious. Right, she has a 3 million dollar violin. Lonely is my guess? It takes all kinds do you think? Peace
Amazing playing and so young :D

I agree, this is at a state of perfection. She does have talent, but would she keep practicing in the near future?

She should be so proud, too bad it has to be associated with China. She is the amazing part of this, what does it have to do with national identity?
wupeide 4 years ago
HOLY CRAP. do you have something against china??!?!?
thiscowsgotmoo 3 years ago
I think what wupeide means to say is: Why do they have to point out that she's Chinese? Does it really matter?
I suspect wupeide wasn't trying to be racist.

This girl is GREAT, 5 STARS! But in my opinion, the 5 greatest violinists of all time are:
1. Niccolo Paganini
2. Antonio Vivaldi
3. Jascha Heifetz
4. Itzhak Perlman
5. Shlomo Mintz
