Why dont Paul supporters mention the fact that Paul's main supporters include Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists, Holocaust Deniers, 9/11 "Truthers" and other paranoid and discredited conspiracists, including American Free Press --a publication of the nation's leading Holocaust Denier and anti-Semite, Willis Carto who run magazines & web site calling for the destruction of Israel and deny there was a a Holocaust?
Ron Paul's 'main' supporters are not members of these groups. Ron Paul also does not support the view these groups advocate, and he does not endorse their actions. Fringe groups levitate towards Dr. Paul because of his stance on freedom...which is why the main group of supporters come from the libertarian party.
This is not true. The machines used for the Iowa Straw Poll were optical scan voting machines, not the touch screen machines. There is a paper trail. In fact, the Iowa GOP had a problem with one of the scanners and hand-counted approximately 1500 ballots. The problem is, the paper ballots were not ALL hand-counted for verification.
To the camera person. Your point about saying the fund for highways were meant for national defense doesn't hold up. National defense does not mean money to fight an unconstitutional never ending war. Ron Paul's original point that the money has been misdirected from it's true purpose, and that if we had had it the bridge might not have collapsed is correct.
Paul acknowledged that one of the ways they got Republican (and probably Southern Democratic and other conservative) votes is that interstate highways were ALSO intended to move troops and artillery in the event of an attack.
Nuclear waste? If energy companies had to answer to the people, they would do things right- knowing it would be their ruin if they polluted. Its when the company is insulated from the market by the government that they get lazy.
If govt didn't protect energy corps, then you probably be green by now, and emit alot less pollution. Everyone would compete fiercely and innovation would thrive.
Not to mention if we hadn't launched all these wars and intervened so many times in the Middle East. Those countries would like us a lot better and OPEC would be much easier to deal with.
This would be a new kind of America. We have been so damed oppressed for so many years with debt and control and an economy struggling to keep it's head above water. This would be a breath of fresh air.
somebody tell Ron Paul about Chernobyl, the dangers of nuclear waste, a country without student loans, deregulation of companies that already are monopolizing or close to it....etc.,,,the list goes on.........
Chernobyl - Ron Paul has answered the question - look it up.
Nuclear waste - look above.
student loans - cause colleges to constantly jack up their fees due to breakage of the free market economy by injecting student loans in the educational system
there's a much greater danger than companies monopolizing - companies will run the world pretty soon - look up "globalization" and how Dr. Paul wants to fight it by protecting our sovereignty.
Monopolies can only exist when they are granted by government. The big corporations love regulation because it ensures their position and effectively creates a cartel. That's called corporatism, and it is what we have now. Those corporations fear the free market.
Even with the highly guarded technology that powers carriers and subs produces waste.. but it can be reconstitued, it's just not as profitable to big corp. Also there are some processes for removing the radioactivity from waste.. though they are FAR from developed (such as composting).. but I'd "wager all the money in my wallet" that less research funding goes into this in the free market than those who want more of the same lobby with.
Kewpies, monopolies exist because of government protection. (tax breaks for big corporations, subsidies, corporate welfare). Student loans: RonPaul is against government loans, which doesn't stop you from getting a loan elsewhere. Why should poor people who can't afford college have to pay taxes so you can?
I'm not a fan of Nuclear power, but the key message here is Freedom and Liberty to protect your land and your air. So, when we finally have this power back in our hands, we determine whether or not to reward a power company with our money. What he says about wind energy being pushed down in the early days of power creation is very true. The right things will happen if the government is kept out of these situations, and Ron Paul's overall desire to give US our control back is highly honorable.
Ron Paul's logic on pollution and the marketplace in the first four minutes is stellar.
He should be the next president.
