lovely. Very nice. The only constructive feedback that i would offer is that i'm left wanting to hear / see more of your voice, your emotions or feeling expressed in it... like if you were writing this letter and then reading it... what would that sound like? how does the song make you feel?
that's exactly what i am doing so I'm quite disappointed if it hasn't come through. i suppose it's possible that the nerves of playing live or the fact that i've done this song so many times have made it less raw than it was. But is it not possible that you're listening with a preconceived idea of what it should sound like? Perhaps the emotions it brings out in me aren't the same as the ones you expected. But it doesn't mean they're not there.
don't get my wrong it's lovely altogether, i prefer it to my own rendition ... you're also nicer to look at than i am =p ... i guess the sentiment was that it seemed very true to the original. which.. which this song, you could do a whole worse than to be true to its original. typically when i go cover hunting on youtube i guess im looking for a rendition that's sort of someone's own artistic adaption of the original.. something to give me fresh ideas. and im not sayig this isnt....
That's fair. I haven't really done anything very different. But I'm wary of doing that with songs I love as much as this one. And I know I need to watch out for songs getting a bit flat after I've played them too often, so I'm not taking offence. :-)
actually i was pretty drunk when i posted the original comment, so don't put too much stock in it either way... and as for now, well i still havent slept since i wrote the first comment, and ive written two midterms since, and have another tomorrow so i think maybe ill just stop here and go to bed. thanks for the tunes pretty lady.
I'm watching the Cohen covers uploaded to u-tube.
