I feel you, but I'd have to disagree. Have you heard his albums? He goes hard. His style is unprecedented like the others. His music funky as well, just not as much of an R&B feel. Somewhat alternatively influenced, yet infused with soul. He's among my favorite artist.

It is unfortunate that the industry's idea of "good" consist of a lot of hoopla and not much real talent. Seems like the more talented the artist or innovative the sound, the less attention it receives. They are robbing the youth of great soulful music. The first album was GREAT and this one was even better, but unless you know where to look to get it, you will totally miss out! The industry has complicated things so much it is hard for a true artist to shine.

i have the album, i'm just disappointed that it was never officially released. what were they thinking...bilal did an interview in which he said the people at the label "didn't like the material" - wow?! that's unbelievalble..but if you have any live footage that would be great

i know i said it came out in 06, but it might have been 05, but whatever the year this album is classic. i think the label didn't think it would sell so they used that "we don't like the material" excuse. in my opinion, the love for sale album was better than 1st born second, but people didn't buy it for real but the single "soul sista" did well so they figure on the second album, with less appearances (only Common is on the album) that this album would sell even less, is my guess.
