Of course if there is a tough Asari, it HAD to be Aleena. ME2 really went overboard with cameos, showering the player with them on every turn. There are billions upon billions of sentient beings on thousands of worlds in the galaxy, and yet Shepard stumbles upon old acquaintances at every step like they all live in the same apartment block.
It's starting to feel like the damn Star Wars prequels at this point.
I DIDN'T NOTICE! And it makes sooo much sense! How could've I missed it? God dam it, this is so crazy. So we got Aria and Wrex being either too friendly or unfriendly next time they meet. And sure the hell they will HAVE to meet, if we're to unite everyone to fight the reapers in a war... If you let Wrex live of cooourse. But that's outta the question. Everyone who decides to kill him should take a damn arrow to his head. Wrex is awesome!
It's possible. I've heard a theory that the bartender on Illium is Liara's "father," too. And saw in an interview that Casey Hudson apparently does read some of the theories out there and may even consider answering some of them in ME3.
@DarkDoc23 i don't think that one is just a theory. If you look at the Shadow Broker's video files, there's one of the bartender looking at a picture that looks very much like Liara.
so im playing me2 again to make sure i set it up for part 3...but i dont know wether to help aria by telling her about the plot behind her back or if this solarian is going to make omega a better place...what do u people think?
@thagingerbreadman I really doute that would change much. If you read the new comics by Dark Horse about the events that involve Aria it those not seem likely that Ish would have make any impact on Aria or Omega. Still, there are 3 different outcomes to his character, if not more.
maybe. but wrex said something along the lines of aleena "choosing a merc base for their fight because she didn't want innocent bystanders to get hurt". now maybe she just wanted to avoid pissing more people off by causing collateral damage but although aria isn't really evil she doesn't strike me as the type to worry over the lives of those that she doesnt have a stake in. actually i think she's more the type to pick a location and set a trap.
The first time I heard her say "Better luck next time" I shat my pants, and fell in love with Mass Effect all over again. Such attention to detail. <3 Bioware.
fuuuuuuuuck meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!! uber mind twist. god damn this just gets better and better. omg i hate it when you know things between characters but the characters in the story have no idea, and u want to scream it out
@408tm Though the Mass Effect Wiki doesn't acknowledge this factor, it is irrefutably true that this is the case. It is a completely illogical deduction that the inclusion of these 2 details in both games don't have a correlation. Bioware isn't that sloppy, they intentionally have those little motifs to come full circle for the epic conclusion. Who would mysteriously show up to bridge the gap otherwise. It's simply a matter of keen perception, perusing carefully, and exceptional writing skills.
Illusive Man hired Kai Feng (I think that's his name) to assassinate Shepard. He's xenophobic and killed Aria's daughter in anger. I think Aria might be wreaking a little havoc on TIM in revenge when she finds out. ;D
it seems very possible that they are one in the same, but i see one possible flaw, when Wrex was telling the story, he said some thing: "she picked a place to fight where no innocents would be harmed, she was always a softy like that". i don't think Aria would care.
BUT!!!! By the time of ME3 Aria is allied with The Illusive Man. It's in one of the novels, I forgot which one but it's an interesting fact. By the beginning of ME3, Aria is allied with T.I.M. I can't wait to see how that draws out during the rest of the game.
@VinnieLepore Aria was tricked by TIM! Just as TIM tricked us! We will show her the truth. We will reunite the greeving family and destroy TIM once and for all!
@Mallissin Yea I thought TIM wasn't as evil as he seemed but once i read Retribution and how he performed indoctrination experiments on humans, i realized he more ruthless than renegade shepard. Should of known since i played ME1 and saw how he killed Admiral Kohoku and experimented on Thorian Creepers and Rachni.
@ffinfinity1 Illusive Man is not dissimilar to that of a Fascist. (A money power that wishes to expand his sphere of influence with a surreptitious methodology.) Human history has long been blighted by rapacious zealots. It is wise of the alien races to perceive him as too powerful, especially with a trained clique of black ops at his command. Not to mention that some of his followers deify/idolize him like a god. He is also parochial and naive in his reproach of other alien races.
@VinnieLepore In ME Retribution TIM offers a partnership with Aria to capture Paul grayson which doesn't turn out well for either party, with that books ending I don't see Aria trying to work with Cerberus again after all the men she lost due to TIM holding back on his motive and what grayson actually was at the time. :)
@benzilabane I'm not sure but I remember reading somewhere that TIM tricked Aria into allying with Cerberus again. IDK if by ME3 that she'll be completely allied with Cerberus but I have a feeling that she'll give us a harder time than in ME2.
@VinnieLepore Oh I see, I've not really read the comics haven't had the spare cash with all the new games coming up.
I really should make an effort that sounds interesting. I always though Aria wouldn't be susceptible to trickery but this is TIM so anything could happen plus he could be indoctrinated by then?
@benzilabane Illusive Man's aptitude for chicanery never ceases to impress. Illusive Man has the enterprising presence to use to his advantage. I'd definitely like to have a mission dedicated to Aria getting some revenge. An obstacle to circumvent would be the fact that Aria has no inherent clairvoyance that she was deceived as to who actually assassinated her daughter. TIM has Aria in state where she'll pretty much kowtow to his whim for the recompense of his virtually immeasurable wealth.
Seems pretty solid: Aria is definitely Aleena. The similarities are too close to be otherwise. i hope she turns up in the next game. Actually seeing her and Wrex interact would be pretty incredible.
that makes perfect sense it matches up completly may be some interaction with her and wrex in the mass effect 3 they'll either kill each other or get togther.
@miru021 in me1 talk to wrex in the normandy eventually he talks about an asari commando he got a contract to kill through a station infested with mercs and how they fought for days in it. Eventually he cornered her in medlab when the stations reactors went critical and he had to bail, he sat there and didnt see her leave when it went up. On the way back to claim his contract he got a message from her saying "better luck next time" :)...ring a bell?
I never bothered to do this dialogue with her. Holy shit.
I always thought Aria was meant to play a bigger role in the Mass Effect universe... but I never, ever imagined that SHE'D be that asari commando from Wrex's story.
Here's hoping we get these two to reunite in ME3 :-D
lol. I thought Wrex's story was pretty badass, and I figured Aria may have some history worth mentioning(otherwise, why would she be in the game when not an enemy or ally) but I'd never figure this. If Wrex and Aria do meet up in ME3, I hope neither of them pulls a Virmire, we know how those go... -_-
to be honest, i hate aria and her stupid snobby icandowhateverthefuckiwant attitude, i love Carrie-Anne Moss but i really hope i can get her killed, (or kill her myself) in the third game.

@Ecci Why would that get in the way of her being a squadmate? I mean, there might be a bit of drama if Liara is also on the team, but A) Liara probably won't be, and B) drama is nothing new to the Normandy crew.
@ClassicToonFan64 i really hope she is at least temporary squaddie, becouse there are plans for omega, through side quests you have the option to ruin her operatioins in omega and leave her open to enemies.
@ginnoveffect More like Lawful Evil o Lawful Neutral: She's a crime boss, other crooks can do anything they want as long as it doesn't affect her, and she's the closest thing to a legitimate authority that Omega has. Maybe if it weren't for her, Omega would fall into absolute anarchy. Even more anarchy, I mean.
