such precision, so much wisdom. I love You and your Father. I want to meet you one day and talk art, I hope you can make time. I was born in 71....my name is Jampa.
when you play tirakita fast, how should your fingers alternate. For example, I'm playing tirakita with Ti: Middle two fingers, Ra: Index finger Ki: Left Hand "Ka', and Ta: Middle two fingers. Now when I do the next Tirakita, do I begin with the Middle two fingers again, or the index finger i.e. Ti: Index Finger and Ra: Middle two fingers?
@ShyamazingLLP Hi Shyamazing. Ideally, u should start with the middle 2 fingers again, as the cycle of Tirekit begins again. That is how I practice and that is also my views.
u can honestly play tabla anywhere, or mainly tirekite, i play it on desks at school on my legs, and when im sitting on my computer im playing. It doesn't matter if you even have a tabla. Sure you will understand more but the beats are all in your hands.
So funny I see a comment, "iv been playing for 3 years n can't reach tht speed". Dude he's been exposed to it since he was in the womb. N it's been on his fingers n hands n head for decades. 3 years?! Clearly shows ur focus.
Watch this a million times if u can, while attempting it simultaneously... There will be a big difference in ur playing.
@diabolusX9 Totally agree...it takes 10-20 years at the least to achieve this type of artistry, and Zakir still is nowhere near perfect. There are still things that Ustad Allarkha was able to do better, not to mention several other players, but what makes Zakir so great is his desire to study and learn these little things. Every young musician should learn from his mastery!
wow it sounds cool adding the extra vowel after playing Ti Ra Ki Ta, awesome video. Ive heard about this video and would like to get a copy of the speaking hand...anyone know where i can get it from?
Studying the raga music of India is a life long, spiritual voyage. Becoming a Ustad or a Pandit takes a lot of personal sacrifices, daily practice up to 6-10 hours, and humility towards one´s guru in a way, people from the western world can hardly somprehend. Hence, Ustads and Pandits are only indigenous people. To call these people "fuckin´sick" cearly shows the gap...
I've been learning Lucknow style for ages and never occured to think the possibility of using a 3-finge-thirikita technique. Thank you for the enlightenment and I will be digging it from now onwards!
Yes Delhi style appears to utilise the outer ring (kinar?) more than other styles. I remember Shaukat Hussain (Tari Khan Guru) playing sounded much sweeter because i think he used the kinar alot.
wow
