I had a 6.2 in my 83 4x4 Chevy Suburban, I lifted it and ran 35's, room for 38's but would rack it tight off road, really tucking the tires on trails not for vehicles it's size, took it all over Royal Blue mountain in east TN. Those older non turbo diesels had great torque available at low RPMs, and could crawl all day long without fear of running hot. I'd take another one, was back when they made their own diesels, instead of relying on Isuzu, the 6.5 was the last Detroit built diesel.

People dont want to pay Quigley's FORT KNOX prices!, I want some *CHEAP $400-$300 DRIVABLE rusted out large 4WD I can modify as a 6WD tandem axle, the tandem differential set is linked with short driveshaft

@Fast355 There were 2 or 3 companies at the time, the V-drive was the only one that looked stock from a distance, wasn't lifted in the air, was a very odd setup that had many moving parts, obviously difficult to obtain now.
