ha-ha....I just luv it! I always thought Joni Mitchell was it...and now that I hear this...OMG....I had a laugh. She really sings it. Thanks for those wonderful visuals too...that made me laugh just as much. Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!
I sing this one from memory, and in the ladies' range....and me a guy...go figure...ha!

I think the most swinging version is the one she performs live with Count Basie on piano, the video is somewhere on youtube but right now I can't find it
This was my delightfully weird family's theme song in the 60s. Even my parents would sing along to this and other songs off their Hottest New Group In Jazz album. It was a big moment in my life to hear the group (with Yolande Bavan instead of Annie) do this song live at Basin St. East in NYC during the summer of '62. Thanks Bob
If you guys dig this tune, try finding some other Lambert, Hendricks & Ross tunes penned by Annie. The only other ones I know of are "Jackie" from the wonderful SWINGERS album by LHR. Another Wardell Gray blues. And "Farmer's Market". I think it might also be Wardell Gray.
This was unsatisfying

Buy the "Lambert, Hendricks, & Ross - The Hottest New Group in Jazz" CD. It's a 2-disk set and is awesome.
