This was recorded with the Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Eugene Ormandy, in the Academy of Music. Rachmaninoff also said the Philadelphia Orchestra was his favorite orchestra, so he recorded his four piano concertos and the "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" with them. He also conducted the Philadelphians in "Isle of the Dead," "Vocalise," and his third symphony, all for RCA Victor.
Terrific!

I thought Prokoffiev 3rd was the only one of this kind....but here is another coolest concerto that pianist can sink their teeth into.

This movement, out of all the Concerti of Rachmaninov, has the deepest and most profound emotions.
And what a masterpiece it is when it is played in the hands of the master himself.

I think that specially the section of 2:15,too beatufiul creation of Rachmaninov.Sounds like the deep russian soul.

I agree. It definitely is the most emotionally charged of the three. The melodies and haunting tones are just phenomenal.
