@brandon911111111111 I actually play 1000pts of Necrons and have not yet lost. True, the main unit is the Deceiver (he pretty much does everything) but then I include him in 750pts games too. One has to use the C'tan to appreciate just how good they are.
Wraiths are awesome. I plan on running a Necron assault army using 9 wraiths. :P
@TheNapalmDuo Take the Deceiver. S9 Monstrous Creature, that Land Raider will be gone. Then when the guys inside assault you, either kill them or float away :P
Turbo boost and 3+ save vs enemy rear vehicle armour is their best role. Contesting objectives is not their best point, since you will only have 3-5 of them in a standard Nec army.
Wraiths suck, their claws should at least be power weapons, and their toughnes should be 6. I can phase through stone but I can't get through your flack armour. Plus it uses up a very valueble fast attacl slot. They should be made elites and two wounds please.
On the Wraiths being trash. Combine them with a Lord w/ Veil of Darkness. Get your squad in close, and make the most of blocking terrain. Assaulting thru the terrain is their specialty. Three lone Wraiths on the assault provide 12, STR 6 attacks at initiative 6. Wraiths do extremely well against units like Devastators or scouts who hunker into cover and are difficult for your ranged attackers to remove.
The problem with them is that they do not have a power weapon, those scouts and devastators still get their saves, Wraiths are only good against eldar ranged units, guard infantry, dark eldar and ranged nids like the Zoanthropes, pyrovore, hive guard, biovore etc.. you have to HAVE TO stay away from anyhting with an armour value. you have T4 and a single wound, they will die if too much survives their charge
Am I right in thinking that flayed ones and wraiths are armed with "claws," which ARE power weapons? because I read on this forum that wraiths (and flayed ones) suck because of a lack of power weapons and I am pretty sure this is bs.
No, they are not power weapons. Which is why Flayed Ones are rather bad (still a bit viable because of the ability to outflank) and wraiths are utter rubbish.
ok, well still wraiths have like six or seven str 6 attacks... that together with high mobility and 3+ invulnerable save I wouldn't call that rubbish.
i would use my destroyers to gun infantry down but it is always useful to have some heavy destroyers with you because a tank such as a leman Russ or Land Raider would most likey take out what is destroying their army(destroyers).
according to fritz, when playnig necrons, heavies are useless and instead warrior fire should be used to immobilize these heavy tanks so the troops inside have to march.
meh, thats what i usually do any way, blow the tanks up because even if you do immobolise it it could still shoot when as you destroy it you make the enemy march and have no tanks shooting you =3
Disruption Fields are wasted on Necron Warriors. If you are running a squad of Warriors into close combat with anything on purpose then you are going to lose said squad quickly.
they pay off more with flayed ones, but not much more effective... You might as well use the scarabs, that's where that piece of Equipment really shines. 3 attacks per swarm, have a max amount of swarm models and 6's cause glances... that's a big tank bogged down with cheap models and it probably won't make up its points. and who knows you may wreck the thing eventually if you keep hitting it with glances. then the remaining swarms can have fun with other models
Everyone in my gaming club runs Space Marines armies decked out in Rhinos and touting Land Raiders (or the occasional Vindicator). Makes it very difficult to compete when you have so many Rhinos running at you full of Assault squads.
Squad of heavy Destroyers or a Particle whip would do the same damn thing and be less risky on your precious warriors and lord.
If you don't want distance fighting and want a lord to have fun, Warscythe him and Watch tanks get sliced in half, Carnifex heads getting sliced off, and watch nothing stand up to it's might. give it a Destroyer body and team it up with wraiths for some more CQC fun! :D

if you deploy in the middle of the board and go second, if your opponent's smart, he's going to kill them all.

Hi nice video! In very small games like 750 how would you try to kill a Landraider or would you ignore him?
TheNapalmDuo 1 year ago
@TheNapalmDuo In my opinion, the best you can hope for is to immobilize it and make it so it's less of a problem.

@TheNapalmDuo hmm...i think you could use an immortal squad, but i dont know if many games should have LR in them...

you move 12, turbo boost another 12 so that adds together into 24 :)

24 inches. 12 for normal movement, double for boost.
