  • The first showing in the UK was on Monday afternoons at 5.30, in 1980.

  • I remember the whole school used to rush home in a frenzy and fight to get on the bus so we wouldn't miss the start of Children of Fire Mountain each Monday! It was a huge hit in the UK.

  • Many people mistakenly remember this as "Children of Firetop Mountain". I want to stab them in the eye.

  • This brings back happy childhood memories. I would agree with the early 1980s as the screening dates in the UK (it was repeated), possibly as early as 1981. I think it was on mid-afternoons.

  • You've made my day. I've been trying for over a year to remember how that theme tune goes!

  • sůva Dwayer - ta vážně neměla chybu... aspoň, že to Slováci vydali, jinak bych to asi už neviděl... Thanks 2 Slovakia

  • I also bought the DVD with original dubbing in Slovak language as I was used to watch when I was a child :) This serie was very popular in Czechoslovakia during the 80´s.Also the others Kiwi´s series like: The flying Kiwi;Under the mountain or my favourite one: The children of the dog star :)

-if you want to see a part of original Slovak dubbing just go to: "Deti z dymovej hory -povodny slovensky dabing" by stary dabing :)

    °nice memories :)

  • Never forgot this theme tune even though I haven't heard it in about thirty odd years!

  • @yawnblahblahblah Yeah, I think you're right. I definitely remember this being on Saturday mornings in the UK.

  • Just bought this on DVD after many years of trying to find it, and it's fantastic to see it again. Brilliant!

  • What fabulous memories... I thought this series was he dogs. it got here (UK) in about 84 I think? Was 7 years old by then, and loved every minute of it.
