  • Where did you get those Pro Marks?

  • :), actually I found them in a drumshop on display. They're just novelties...haha, like small baseball bats. :)

  • Lol that video is so funny. Thanks for it and the awesome drumming. I thought you were one of the drummers for Chicago.

  • Very kind of you...........thank you my man.

  • Awesome music and equipment and of course the girls :) Thank you for sharing your music and videos Mr.Finch I'm a big fan of drums.

  • No problem....and thanks for sharing such kind words. Thanks man...:)

  • Thanks you guys for your comments...I appreciate the kindness...

  • dude, your awesome I think the fact that u took up drums again was a great thing to do... I love drums! I also really like your videos!

  • Men you are great!

Stop looking at the woman... lol!!!

  • You have agreat set, love the stories from when you were on the road, i bet you had some good times ;). Cheers for the vid.

  • I was waiting to see some drumheads, I guess I'll have to watch it again.

  • :) They're there...right on top of the cans!

  • girls guns and drums my life in that order

  • like the sets, like the audience !

  • Whoa! at 1:44, I hear a little "deet, deet da deet, deet da deet, deet da deeeeee" and I thought my roommates phone was about to ring but it was yours. My tv used to make that noise when he got a call.

  • The closest thing I recall was a Colt Match Target .38 Super... but a Magnum .44??? Your gun must worth a fortune!!!

And by the way... I've seen your other stuff. You're a great drummer (I wish I could have a teacher like you) and you seem to be a very nice person too. And in my humble opinion, you still got it (And I dig your Bass drum pedal technique by the way)

Once again, congratulations dude... You're the man!!!

  • I think I got lucky with the barrel on this gun, it's long (9.5" barrel), and just really, really consistent. I shot that pattern with a rest, taking my time, not fast. I bought that gun back when I had a little more spare money. Haha...hey I watched some of your vids...excellent stuff. You also have an excellent touch on drums. Take care my man...:)

  • Yeaph; you got a jewel there, no doubt about it. I own a .357 S&W myself... haven't practice in a decade or so, but I hope to get to it again sometime in the future :-)

  • Yeah, I haven't had much time to go practice..actually in a long while like you. Overall I believe my favorite is the .357. Your Smith sounds nice...

  • This is maybe the most entertaining drums-related video I have seen. Your kit absolutely ROCKS! I mean... I'll kill for a Supraphonic Ludwig snare and you have two of them!

You definitely don't see a lot of Ludwig kits like yours around... Congratulations!

But for me the most amazing thing you showed was your target. Dude... This is the first time I see that kind of precision in a hand gun that is not a Hammerli.

  • thanks my man, Yes, those drums are my old friends. Check around on ebay maybe for used Supraphonics, or locally for used. Also bear in mind I've had years to accumulate gear. It'll happen for you too...:)

  • I was expecting a much bigger girlie pin-up wall to match the big drum kit you have.

  • Hahaha....actually, it grew about as much as my wife would allow me to grow it. :) I had to stop adding to it. :) To tell you the truth, it's up there and I don't think about it much, I should probably take it down...maybe it's a bit excessive. Anyway, :) thanks again for stopping by...:)

  • Ha! Vanna! she was the reason I would watch Whee l of fortune when I was younger

  • Haha...yes, she's quite the looker. :) Thanks for stopping by...

  • Hey man why don't you send me some drum heads?!!! Lol... I need some so bad but I'm so short on cash right now I can't get any.. If you watch my drum tour video look at my snare head... IT'S BLACK!! lol

  • Haha....as long as you can hit it...it'll do. Don't worry, it'll come together...I had lean times too - they don't last forever. I used to just play them until they broke! :)

  • but thanks anyway... I will try checking on Ebay but I need a crash maybe an A custom or just a ZHT, or ZBT or MAYBE..... K CUSTOM OR even a Z custom or Avedis series I don't know... SO MANY CHOICES AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

  • Same as DWdrummer... I love Zildjians especially the K customs and Ks... Im saving up for some A customs. I love the tone of A customs. Right now I have ZHT 16in. med. thin crash, ZHT 20in. Medium ride, ZHT 14in. Mastersound Hi-Hats, and a ZHT 16in. China... I know they are lower grade of Zildjians but really they don't sound bad.

  • Of course your ZHTs sound good, they're Zildjians! :) Hey don't worry too much about getting the most expensive cymbals out there, one of my 16s is ZBT...and then there's those 2 World Percussions (=Wuhan). Sounds like your selection is nice...all you really need. Play on my man...:)

  • Yeah but I need another crash... It sucks with one crash... If I had 2 crashes it would be amazing I could do so much more!

  • I know what you mean. If money is short, try finding a used crash. Maybe Ebay, or local stores may know of drummers who've sold or traded cymbals in. Just make sure it's not cracked. Some drummers actually look for "seasoned" cymbals like this, and pay maybe half list price (sometimes more or less). I love finding great used cymbals for less money...

  • Really all there is around here is GuitarCenter... haha I don't like their selection too much I mean don't get me wrong they have nice cymbals but they are just way too expensive!

  • Ask them if they know anybody through the grapevine who is looking to sell a cymbal. They might be able to give you a steer to somebody...

  • Ok thanks... I will do that..

  • I hear ya when you were talking about the different sounds of cymbals.

  • Right on, I've always loved cymbals, and of course the rest of it.

  • Great ring tone. "Hello I Love You", by The Doors. Also, why don't you use that Zildjian china. Probably because you have no room. Right?

  • Yeah, I switch between that and "Sunshine of Your Love" by Clapton. Great oldies. On the China, yeah no more room. Haha...The last one I added took me a few hours to get everything adjusted for one more. It's actually too many, but I just like having my pick of lots of sounds. :)

  • I can't believe that's Vanna white. I thought it was shannon tweed at first!

  • I couldn't believe it either...she definitely dabbled in some modeling, or whatever...:)

  • damn, I thought my pro mark 2b's were big, those sticks are fucking gigundo. I bet you impressed alot of ladies with those babies!!

  • Haha...I never used them to play, I got them at a drum shop as jokes. They're like small baseball bats. :)

  • nice tour..luv your humor..u are a lot like me :) thanks for sharing. ps. my 1st set was a Ludwig (4 piece silver sparkle)..man they sure dont make them like that anymore..huh?

  • You bet...I don't know, I'd actually like to have several sets :), a couple of brand new ones...but of course I could never part with my old friends. Yep, silver sparkle was a regular standard...good stuff. Hey, thanks for stopping in...:)

  • Hahhaahha. Duude:D Your funny.

    Awesome!

    5/5

  • Hey John...and hello to Norway! Thanks man, I'm glad you liked it. I appreciate you watching...:)

  • thanks for the tip...im trying to look for a good deal on ebay and the buyandsell etc.......il try get a little part time job and save up to get a MONSTER OF A DRUM KIT.....haha......

  • Yeah Shaun, I can't stress enough how much you can save by adding one thing at a time, sometimes just a hardware part or something, and buying used whenever you can. Also, I didn't pay anywhere near what I said in the previous msg...but what it would cost if you went and bought it today, all at once. No way I could afford to buy a set outright like that. Slow n' easy is more gentle on the pocketbook.

  • no problem dude......i have a question....if u dont mind me asking.......how much is that kit alltogether?.......the kit i have now is a little crap beginner kit that cost 300, but i suppose i gotta start somewhere! haha!

how much was your Ludwig? looks pretty expensive!

  • Well, the 5pc Ludwigs (the core) I got in 1971 when I was 13, my 2nd set. 1st was a 3pc red sparkle Polaris (wish I still had 'em). If you bought things all new, maybe $1,400-$1,800 for cymbals; drums maybe $3,500-4,500 (including 3 extra snares, there are 10 drums plus the roto toms); another grand or so for the hardware. All a wild guess. Probably shouldn't include the extra snares. Anyway, build SLOW. It took me time. Buy used whenever possible...& thanks for stopping by...

  • man, ur a ledgend......'stop looking at the girl, STOP LOOKING AT THE GIRL!'

haha......u have a nice drum kit man!

  • Hey Shaun...and hey to Ireland! Hahaha, I'm glad you liked it, I had a kick doing it. Thanks for watching my man...:)

  • hey Johnathan i just wanna say loving your audience :)

  • Hey! Hahaha...they're an excellent audience! Hey, thanks for stopping by...

  • WHEEL...OF...FORTUNE! LOL you are one funny guy. I bet those giant drumsticks could double up as baseball bats. You have an impressive audience...you should tell them about me sometime =). btw, nice yellow sprinker on your wall, i believe i have the same one in my backyard

  • Hahahaha.....hi Mot! Believe it or not, that really is a picture of Vanna White. The sprinkler! hahaha! Yeah, those sticks are almost as big as bats, solid hickory. As for the audience, I'll contact each of them and tell them about you! :) Be advised, two of them are of the incomparable Suzanne Pleshette. When she was about 35 or 40. Now she's like, 70 or something. This is a rather unfortunate, ahhh, reality. Hahaha...Hey, thanks for stopping by.

  • BTW, i just upped a vid of my equipment too... Let me know what you think of my mouse pad =)

  • Excellent tour Johnathan! All of our favorite things!!!!

  • Hey Frank! Nice audience, huh? Haha...thanks for stopping by Frank!
