Yes, alternate fuel. Muddy stinking lumps you are fishing out of the sea or collecting from the beach. You will simply only need an alternate car then where you could put them in and petrol filling stations will have been yesterday.

before starting to complain about bp, let me remind you that you are all part of this. every person who has a bank account supports corporations like bp. do you really think your bank would invest YOUR money in oil corporations that waste huge amounts of money on unnecessary preventional measures, lowering their margin of profit and therefore YOUR interest rates?
always remember: it's not a few "management persons" that are fucked up, it's our whole system. which you represent and support.
@wiseye61 EPIC FAIL! BP is responsible for 97% of egregious willful violations in oil refineries. OSHA, equally responsible due to lack of oversight, defines a willful violation occurs when: an employer has demonstrated either an intentional disregard for the requirements of the Act OR PLAIN INDIFFERENCE TO EMPLOYEE SAFETY AND HEALTH.
I understand that there are a lot more important things to discuss regarding BP, but did they really just compare a woman getting breast implants to the move toward alternative energies?
@oblio1000 Or if only we could make the sun shine at night, make the wind blow during still days and extract hydrogen from water so the net energy content of the extracted hydrogen is more than the energy expended to extract it.
There's a reason people use oil you know. All you morons out their who claim we're "addicted" to it should consider what life would be like without cheap abundant fuel and all the thousands of indispensable items made from oil.
@SpellboundSolution As much as you may hate the tree hugger types, there still is a finite amount of oil that is left in the Earth. I've heard about maybe 100 years or so left. In any case, sooner or later we'll have to find a way to live without oil anyway.
@igykalen Well I never said anything about "tree huggers", people on the left and right are against oil for a myriad of reasons (anti-Arab xenophobia or sometimes justified fear of funding terrorists for example). What I'm saying is if we have 100 years of cheap easy to acquire energy at our disposal let's continue using it for another 100 years rather than developing an expensive alternative when we simply don't need it.
@igykalen For the record Bill O'Reilly, not well known as a tree hugger, is in favour of replacing crude oil based fuel with so called "bio fuel". (Is crude oil liquid magic or something?) Anyway bio fuel is a euphemism for food that we could be eating and shouldn't be burning. While people the world over are starving let's burn that inedible gloop called crude oil (or at least the fuel derived from it: kerosene, petrol, diesel etc)
@SpellboundSolution Well, I never said anything about Bill O'Reilly. We WILL be using oil for the next hundred years regardless. That doesn't mean we can just magically transform our infrastructure at the last second when we have to.
Bio fuels are endangered human life from lack of food. Currently humans make more than enough food to feed the world. It's things like greedy governments that stop their own people from getting genetically grown rice because they want $ to hire someone to check it.
@igykalen People around the world are not dying due to a lack of food? Are you serious? Maybe spoiled rich capitalist countries like our own can afford to burn food, but even for people rolling in food and wealth thanks to that ultimate evil known as capitalism burning food is still not a good idea as it raises the cost and so long as inedible gloop can provide fuel there's no justification to destroy food to produce inferior and more expensive fuel.
@SpellboundSolution Just one example. There is a country in Africa that has warehouses filled with food, that the government won't give to their people untill they get a few million dollars to hire outsiders (That already say it's safe) to validate the food.
Elsewhere there are wars going on and when planes drop food. the enemies steal it to stave the people they're attacking.
So no, it's not a lack of world food supply. It's the means to get it to them currently.
@igykalen Well we do have food to burn in the 21st century (I'm sure 99% of Africa would disagree though). Still that's no excuse to waste something so valuable and necessary to human life when a cheaper alternative exists. And there's plenty of people out there who are just against personal transport (aka cars) no matter how they are powered because people with transportation, economic and other forms of freedom are not easily ruled.
@igykalen And of course a lot of anti-oil zealots are simply anti-capitalists and have nothing against Middle Eastern crime families/heads of governments making billions out of oil while they whinge and whine about BP and that hideous sin called "making a profit".
@igykalen I hope you're not one of those people that think 6-7 billion people on Earth aren't affecting the environment. Cancer rates are higher in areas with increased smog. And while some may believe that global warming is a myth, the data is still irrefutable. WE ARE affecting the environment.
Ducking your head in the sand and hoping for the best is a solution, but not a very good one when the alternative means that you might lose money *if* it's wrong. Either way it creates jobs so who cares
@igykalen Well people in Africa are very lucky: they die of starvation long before cancer has a chance to kill them. If you're a pro-humanist and not a nihilist and are capable of seeing beyond a narrow dogmatic ideology you should be able to see that capitalism which leads to industrialization is the way to life expectancies in the 70s and 80s. As I said people in non-capitalist countries don't even live long enough to die from cancer.
@SpellboundSolution Well, I'm more of a socialist But biodiesel is made from vegetable oils, animal fats or recycled greases. If you're eating that, then hats off to ya.
@igykalen But the real issue here is what is the point of using "biodiesel" when normal diesel is readily available? It's like some strange ritual or religious practice which complicates life, wastes resources but accomplishes nothing (like Kosher food) and also shakes economies and helps corporate special interest groups that a socialist should hate. And yes: there are plenty of corporate lobbyists pushing for so called green fuels for the same reason BP does (or doesn't).
@SpellboundSolution Biofuels are gaining increased public and scientific attention, driven by factors such as oil price spikes, the need for increased energy security, and concern over greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels.
I don't think you really know what bio fuel is. Ethanol can be used as a fuel for vehicles in its pure form, but it is usually used as a gasoline additive to increase octane and improve vehicle emissions. Should we remove it because it's a bio fuel?
@igykalen Crude oil is a "biofuel" too you know. Let's forget silly buzzwords for now, there's only one thing I'm against: the initiation of force from people with the privilege to use force. That includes corporate tax breaks and subsidies and Al Gore style do gooders placing a prohibition on incandescent light bulbs. If a company wants to make an ethanol fuel company or an alternative lighting company on the free market then good luck to them.
@igykalen Well I don't know, I don't think it's dogma one way or the other. And maybe I'm wrong but mean temperature has been decreasing for 12 years (an environmentalist said the peak temperature was in 1998). But one thing is certain: global cooling, global warming, static or changing climate there's no excuse for outlawing one of mankind's greatest inventions in the name of helping man. That's like claiming a communist police state exists for the good of the people.
@SpellboundSolution No excuse? You talking about the potential of the extinction of man because someone wants to make a dollar? We outlaw plenty of things like lead when we find out it's toxic, but you rather drive a car than exist?
Yeah maybe "god" will prevent us from being able to destroy ourselves, but I like to live in reality. If there's a chance that our conveniences are destroying the Earth and our ability to survive on it, then why ignore real scientists just because it'll cost more?
@igykalen "Outlaw light bulbs else man will go extinct." Step back my friend, repeat that to yourself out loud and realize how ridiculous it is. And I'm an atheist and an Objectivist. I don't believe in help by force earthly or otherwise.
@igykalen I'll have to repeat myself: I have nothing against florescent bulbs (although it's debatable whether they are cheaper) I'm simply against the fact that the governments have used their privilege of a monopoly on force, let me repeat that word: FORCE to stop me using the kind of bulb I wish to use. And if you don't believe (or realize) such a prohibition is in effect or is pending read the Wikipedia article "Phase-out of incandescent light bulbs".
@igykalen Please stop saying LOL. Fluorescent lamps were not cheaper than incandescent lamps the last time I saw them together. Since I haven't seen incandescent lamps on shop shelves for a long time now I can't say for sure which is the cheapest today, all I remember is that a double pack of incandescent bulbs was 50p and a single fluorescent lamp was roughly £4: 16 times more expensive in other words. What are the prices of each type of bulb in your local store? (If they're both on sale)
@igykalen If florescent bulbs truly are preferable to incandescent bulbs then people would willingly adopt them (just as people moved from whale oil to kerosene and then from kerosene to light bulbs) there would be no need to use government force. That is the idea of a bottom up free economy as opposed to a top down force based economy in which wise leaders use their guns to make sure their simple subjects make the right choices.
@igykalen You DID say it: "You talking about the potential of the extinction of man because someone wants to make a dollar?" Mankind is not going to go extinct if the temperature rises a few degrees (which it hasn't been for the last 12 years). You wanna see what a hot climate looks like then go to Baghdad. The only thing that may lead to extinction there is their form of religion.
@igykalen Yes and no. Most likely the impact created a debris shield that blocked out the sun for decades and wiped the dinoasurs out. I'm getting a bit embarrassed that I have to explain to an adult that there is a difference between a change in temperature of a few degrees (or a fraction of a degree) and a decades long earth wide block out of the sun. And the ingenuity of humans is slightly above that of dinosaurs, so long as our wise overlords leave us free to be ingenious.
@igykalen And our fellow mammals survived it too you know (it's what allowed mammals to conquer the earth). You know and everybody here knows that this is just Luddite nihilism. It's not about saving man it's about destroying man. I've never been convinced by apocalyptic stories; not from Christians, not from Muslims, not from environmentalists and not from any other religion.
@igykalen - A climate changing in a couple hours from hot and humid to freezing and dark because of a massive asteroid is incomparable to us changing the climate a couple degrees. We and other animals can adapt. climate change is still bad though.
@igykalen And we will need to change our infrastructure when oil runs out. Changing everything at the last second is a bit overkill, but so is doing it 100 years ahead of schedule. Once the supply of oil is reduced to the point where it is no longer a viable energy source the inanimate although apparently omniscient entity called the market will notice and we'll switch without the need for government to use it's privilege of a monopoly on force to direct us.
@oblio1000 So all you holier then thou bum balloons who damn oil and feel we can make plastic using essence of unicorn and run cars on food that we should be eating: WAKE THE FUCK UP! I'm so sick of the "alternative"/"green" energy religion. And Manbearpig hunters.
@MrAlexbrodie the biggest environmental disaster ever.
.
totally
there is also the unprecedented extinction rate, deforestation, urban expansion, overpopulation, GM food, religious radicals, oh and AGW caused by burning fossil fuels, almost forgot.
In all honesty, we could have a BP head hunt, and we might feel better about ourselves, but that would only show how hypocritical we all are. The only way to stop this insanity is for each of us to stop buying gasoline and find something else. Every single comment designed to scorn BP is completely idle and be-nine because anyone with a half a brain in there head knows what oil does to the environment.. ..and lives with it every day. Where do you think is goes when you press the gas pedal?
Yeah, alternative fuel = massive oil spill. Love your oil company, doesn't matter if it is Exxon-mobile or BP... Oil is a drug and drug addicts love thier drug dealers.
Im astonished 39 days out and the dems have done nothing other than cover for BP and buy them time. And yet all these Gulf states are, I guess, just hoping the dems will get the picture. What are they seeing? Or are they just hoping? Obama is owned by big oil. You guys really dont understand this? Green Party. And FYI - you all had better remember the name Atlantis - it could be the next well to go.
@tovarco "just hoping the dems will get the picture."
kool aid anyone? the dems, like me, know that BP know how is the only thing that can do anything about the leak. Obama is in charge of kicking their asses into action. BP has been lying about the true extent of the problem the whole time so far. Go blame yourself for voting the "de-regulator" righties into office all the time, like the Bush n Cheney oilmen,
@mjimih Sorry Im Green party and to me they are all republidems. "Obama is in charge of kicking their asses into action." Its been over 40 days - are you still waiting for him to kick some ass? You dems can blame the reps for setting this all up (I agree 100%), but now we can all see that BP owns obama. Hes only visted twice (in that same span he visited my state CA 4 times to raise money). Rarely do i agree with republicans, but this is his katrina.
Actually there's really not much the federal government can do in this case. The problem can't be fixed unless someone finds a way to stop the flow of oil. I fail to see how this is equivalent to Katrina.
@aunicornist888 How do you know? Have we even tried? Again obamanites - you guys just sit there and believe whatever they tell you dont you. Worst eco disaster and obama leaves leaves BP in charge 6 weeks out and none of you find that strange. Let guess you dont even find it strange that obama and BP feed you a timeline of Aug as to when we might see something. Dont you ask yourselves where they get this timeframe from?
WTF ''Obamanite''? Did I say in my comment ''I love Obama?'' Obama is a corporatist neo-liberal that tries to pass him self off as a progressive. That's why I voted for Kucinich in the primaries and Nader in the general election. That doesn't mean I'm going to attack him unfairly. The fact is, BP are the ones mostly at fault here. If they hadn't lied about the initial leak, scientists may have been able to prevent it from getting this bad, knowing the true scope of the problem.
@tovarco look when righties and greedy oil Co.'s LIE to congress or the President, you can't then blame the Pres or congress for what happens. U can't have it both ways.
Just like Iraq . they, the righties, war mongers, oil men, LIED to congress to get the (almost) unanimous vote.
THIS TIME THIS PRESIDENT WILL KICK SOME FURIOUS ASS.
@mjimih No Im Green party. I dont vote for republdems. Again think about what you guys are saying. We are the greatest country in the world - we sent guys to the moon and back like we were ordering pizza. Oh but just as long as obama says we cant do anything - you buy it hook line and sinker. Have you obamanites even tried? When last I checked BP was still in charge of fixing the mess they created. What a freaking joke!
@tovarco country in the world - we sent guys to the moon and back like we were ordering pizza
one little glitch any one of those moon missions would have been deadly. a test run to orbit WAS deadly btw. You think anyone can wave a magic wand and fix THIS problem quickly?
So far deregulation and non-existent enforcement of the lame ass laws protecting the gulf caused this. They were ALLOWED to cut corners. We can all blame Darth Cheney for this. I wish a cow-pie would fly into his pie-hole!
BP spokesmen says it the injection of mud does not work they will build a sand castle in the shape of the Buckingham Palace and put on top of the gusher. How stupid are these people. Congress trying to blame this on someone beside them selves. British loyalist government we have wouldn't you say. Look into the federal reserve bank people !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love how you people are putting an anti british spin on this, you guys totally forget who the biggest polluter to the whole world is, yourselves, who uses the most oil? you guys do! bp are just filling the gap, if you want to know who is truly resposnsible for this spill then look at yourself when you fill up at the pump
@aunicornist888 no china is the largest polluter overall, but that is epected for a country with such a huge population, america however has the largest pollution per person int he country
Here's a thought.... stop killing the earth AND trying to hide it by sending gay commercial out that say your innocent. wheres a Lynch Mob when you need it.
People here is stupid, only see tits. My goodness!. What a tighted mind!!. See the context. It is just an ad. Obviously it try to extol with exaggeration the brand BP, but it is just an ad. The ad company is payed for do precisely that.
I can't see how any of these things are related to oil or an oil company. I mean really, silicon implants is equivalent to JOY!? Are you serious? It is a very enigmatic ad from which many alternative (and sometimes conflicting)meanings can be derived. As an aside, here's some pertinent information to it:

@oblio1000 Or if only we could make the sun shine at night, make the wind blow during still days and extract hydrogen from water so the net energy content of the extracted hydrogen is more than the energy expended to extract it.
There's a reason people use oil you know. All you morons out their who claim we're "addicted" to it should consider what life would be like without cheap abundant fuel and all the thousands of indispensable items made from oil.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution As much as you may hate the tree hugger types, there still is a finite amount of oil that is left in the Earth. I've heard about maybe 100 years or so left. In any case, sooner or later we'll have to find a way to live without oil anyway.
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen Well I never said anything about "tree huggers", people on the left and right are against oil for a myriad of reasons (anti-Arab xenophobia or sometimes justified fear of funding terrorists for example). What I'm saying is if we have 100 years of cheap easy to acquire energy at our disposal let's continue using it for another 100 years rather than developing an expensive alternative when we simply don't need it.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@igykalen For the record Bill O'Reilly, not well known as a tree hugger, is in favour of replacing crude oil based fuel with so called "bio fuel". (Is crude oil liquid magic or something?) Anyway bio fuel is a euphemism for food that we could be eating and shouldn't be burning. While people the world over are starving let's burn that inedible gloop called crude oil (or at least the fuel derived from it: kerosene, petrol, diesel etc)
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution Well, I never said anything about Bill O'Reilly. We WILL be using oil for the next hundred years regardless. That doesn't mean we can just magically transform our infrastructure at the last second when we have to.
Bio fuels are endangered human life from lack of food. Currently humans make more than enough food to feed the world. It's things like greedy governments that stop their own people from getting genetically grown rice because they want $ to hire someone to check it.
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen People around the world are not dying due to a lack of food? Are you serious? Maybe spoiled rich capitalist countries like our own can afford to burn food, but even for people rolling in food and wealth thanks to that ultimate evil known as capitalism burning food is still not a good idea as it raises the cost and so long as inedible gloop can provide fuel there's no justification to destroy food to produce inferior and more expensive fuel.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution Just one example. There is a country in Africa that has warehouses filled with food, that the government won't give to their people untill they get a few million dollars to hire outsiders (That already say it's safe) to validate the food.
Elsewhere there are wars going on and when planes drop food. the enemies steal it to stave the people they're attacking.
So no, it's not a lack of world food supply. It's the means to get it to them currently.
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen Well we do have food to burn in the 21st century (I'm sure 99% of Africa would disagree though). Still that's no excuse to waste something so valuable and necessary to human life when a cheaper alternative exists. And there's plenty of people out there who are just against personal transport (aka cars) no matter how they are powered because people with transportation, economic and other forms of freedom are not easily ruled.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@igykalen And of course a lot of anti-oil zealots are simply anti-capitalists and have nothing against Middle Eastern crime families/heads of governments making billions out of oil while they whinge and whine about BP and that hideous sin called "making a profit".
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@igykalen I hope you're not one of those people that think 6-7 billion people on Earth aren't affecting the environment. Cancer rates are higher in areas with increased smog. And while some may believe that global warming is a myth, the data is still irrefutable. WE ARE affecting the environment.
Ducking your head in the sand and hoping for the best is a solution, but not a very good one when the alternative means that you might lose money *if* it's wrong. Either way it creates jobs so who cares
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen Well people in Africa are very lucky: they die of starvation long before cancer has a chance to kill them. If you're a pro-humanist and not a nihilist and are capable of seeing beyond a narrow dogmatic ideology you should be able to see that capitalism which leads to industrialization is the way to life expectancies in the 70s and 80s. As I said people in non-capitalist countries don't even live long enough to die from cancer.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution Well, I'm more of a socialist But biodiesel is made from vegetable oils, animal fats or recycled greases. If you're eating that, then hats off to ya.
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen But the real issue here is what is the point of using "biodiesel" when normal diesel is readily available? It's like some strange ritual or religious practice which complicates life, wastes resources but accomplishes nothing (like Kosher food) and also shakes economies and helps corporate special interest groups that a socialist should hate. And yes: there are plenty of corporate lobbyists pushing for so called green fuels for the same reason BP does (or doesn't).
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution Biofuels are gaining increased public and scientific attention, driven by factors such as oil price spikes, the need for increased energy security, and concern over greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuels.
I don't think you really know what bio fuel is. Ethanol can be used as a fuel for vehicles in its pure form, but it is usually used as a gasoline additive to increase octane and improve vehicle emissions. Should we remove it because it's a bio fuel?
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen Crude oil is a "biofuel" too you know. Let's forget silly buzzwords for now, there's only one thing I'm against: the initiation of force from people with the privilege to use force. That includes corporate tax breaks and subsidies and Al Gore style do gooders placing a prohibition on incandescent light bulbs. If a company wants to make an ethanol fuel company or an alternative lighting company on the free market then good luck to them.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution "Crude oil is a "biofuel" too you know"
no shit, really? Well I'm sure that's what they mean when they mention it. I mean what's a hundred million years between tank refills anyway. :/
I see you think global warming is a myth.
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen Well I don't know, I don't think it's dogma one way or the other. And maybe I'm wrong but mean temperature has been decreasing for 12 years (an environmentalist said the peak temperature was in 1998). But one thing is certain: global cooling, global warming, static or changing climate there's no excuse for outlawing one of mankind's greatest inventions in the name of helping man. That's like claiming a communist police state exists for the good of the people.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution No excuse? You talking about the potential of the extinction of man because someone wants to make a dollar? We outlaw plenty of things like lead when we find out it's toxic, but you rather drive a car than exist?
Yeah maybe "god" will prevent us from being able to destroy ourselves, but I like to live in reality. If there's a chance that our conveniences are destroying the Earth and our ability to survive on it, then why ignore real scientists just because it'll cost more?
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen "Outlaw light bulbs else man will go extinct." Step back my friend, repeat that to yourself out loud and realize how ridiculous it is. And I'm an atheist and an Objectivist. I don't believe in help by force earthly or otherwise.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution Why should I repeat that lol. I never said it.
It's believed to be the accumulation of these thing that lead to global warming.
However I could not find any reference to Al Gore banning incandescent light bulbs.
In any event, florescent bulbs do the same thing and work much better (efficiently) AND cheaper overall. Why are you against it anyway? lulz
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen I'll have to repeat myself: I have nothing against florescent bulbs (although it's debatable whether they are cheaper) I'm simply against the fact that the governments have used their privilege of a monopoly on force, let me repeat that word: FORCE to stop me using the kind of bulb I wish to use. And if you don't believe (or realize) such a prohibition is in effect or is pending read the Wikipedia article "Phase-out of incandescent light bulbs".
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution (although it's debatable whether they are cheaper)
OMG are you shitting me? Fluorescent lighting is 2/3rds cheaper. How is that debatable?
This isn't rocket science or classified info here lol.
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen Please stop saying LOL. Fluorescent lamps were not cheaper than incandescent lamps the last time I saw them together. Since I haven't seen incandescent lamps on shop shelves for a long time now I can't say for sure which is the cheapest today, all I remember is that a double pack of incandescent bulbs was 50p and a single fluorescent lamp was roughly £4: 16 times more expensive in other words. What are the prices of each type of bulb in your local store? (If they're both on sale)
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@igykalen If florescent bulbs truly are preferable to incandescent bulbs then people would willingly adopt them (just as people moved from whale oil to kerosene and then from kerosene to light bulbs) there would be no need to use government force. That is the idea of a bottom up free economy as opposed to a top down force based economy in which wise leaders use their guns to make sure their simple subjects make the right choices.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@igykalen You DID say it: "You talking about the potential of the extinction of man because someone wants to make a dollar?" Mankind is not going to go extinct if the temperature rises a few degrees (which it hasn't been for the last 12 years). You wanna see what a hot climate looks like then go to Baghdad. The only thing that may lead to extinction there is their form of religion.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@SpellboundSolution Yeah I said because someone want to make a dollar, not because of light bulbs lol.
Actually climate change has wiped out many species all throughout history. You think the dinosaurs all died because they were each hit by asteroids?
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen Yes and no. Most likely the impact created a debris shield that blocked out the sun for decades and wiped the dinoasurs out. I'm getting a bit embarrassed that I have to explain to an adult that there is a difference between a change in temperature of a few degrees (or a fraction of a degree) and a decades long earth wide block out of the sun. And the ingenuity of humans is slightly above that of dinosaurs, so long as our wise overlords leave us free to be ingenious.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@igykalen And our fellow mammals survived it too you know (it's what allowed mammals to conquer the earth). You know and everybody here knows that this is just Luddite nihilism. It's not about saving man it's about destroying man. I've never been convinced by apocalyptic stories; not from Christians, not from Muslims, not from environmentalists and not from any other religion.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@igykalen - A climate changing in a couple hours from hot and humid to freezing and dark because of a massive asteroid is incomparable to us changing the climate a couple degrees. We and other animals can adapt. climate change is still bad though.
danielodors 1 year ago
@danielodors Animals can only adapt over many generations, not a few decades.
igykalen 1 year ago
@igykalen And we will need to change our infrastructure when oil runs out. Changing everything at the last second is a bit overkill, but so is doing it 100 years ahead of schedule. Once the supply of oil is reduced to the point where it is no longer a viable energy source the inanimate although apparently omniscient entity called the market will notice and we'll switch without the need for government to use it's privilege of a monopoly on force to direct us.
SpellboundSolution 1 year ago
@oblio1000 So all you holier then thou bum balloons who damn oil and feel we can make plastic using essence of unicorn and run cars on food that we should be eating: WAKE THE FUCK UP! I'm so sick of the "alternative"/"green" energy religion. And Manbearpig hunters.

Im astonished 39 days out and the dems have done nothing other than cover for BP and buy them time. And yet all these Gulf states are, I guess, just hoping the dems will get the picture.

Rarely do i agree with republicans, but this is his katrina.
tovarco 1 year ago
@tovarco
Actually there's really not much the federal government can do in this case. The problem can't be fixed unless someone finds a way to stop the flow of oil. I fail to see how this is equivalent to Katrina.
aunicornist888 1 year ago
@aunicornist888 How do you know? Have we even tried? Again obamanites - you guys just sit there and believe whatever they tell you dont you. Worst eco disaster and obama leaves leaves BP in charge 6 weeks out and none of you find that strange. Let guess you dont even find it strange that obama and BP feed you a timeline of Aug as to when we might see something. Dont you ask yourselves where they get this timeframe from?
tovarco 1 year ago
@tovarco
If they hadn't lied about the initial leak, scientists may have been able to prevent it from getting this bad, knowing the true scope of the problem.
aunicornist888 1 year ago
@tovarco look when righties and greedy oil Co.'s LIE to congress or the President, you can't then blame the Pres or congress for what happens. U can't have it both ways.
Just like Iraq . they, the righties, war mongers, oil men, LIED to congress to get the (almost) unanimous vote.
THIS TIME THIS PRESIDENT WILL KICK SOME FURIOUS ASS.
you watch this ain't over yet.

What a freaking joke!
tovarco 1 year ago
@tovarco country in the world - we sent guys to the moon and back like we were ordering pizza
one little glitch any one of those moon missions would have been deadly. a test run to orbit WAS deadly btw. You think anyone can wave a magic wand and fix THIS problem quickly?
So far deregulation and non-existent enforcement of the lame ass laws protecting the gulf caused this. They were ALLOWED to cut corners. We can all blame Darth Cheney for this. I wish a cow-pie would fly into his pie-hole!
