My desktop is an older gaming pc but its used to be a business computer for C&S and I don't think it was ever sold in stores. I have 4GB DDR1 ram, Upgraded processor from 2.80 GHz p4 to 3.40Ghz p4. My video card was a NVIDIA 8400GS I did have 2 connected to make 1GB video card. I have windows 7 Professional and WIndows XP professional on this computer. Runs like a champ. Windows 7 runs very fast with GTA IV and call of duty. The rating is 4.1 not bad for an old computer.
@robertkrosl Mine beats yours and I barley spent any money. Nice though, more ram then me. My GPU is on par and only sightly ahead and behind for some things on the 8600 gt or 9600 gt. HD 4670.
AMD Phenom 8400 x 3 2.1ghz
2gb corsair 800 mhz ddr2 ram
Sapphire HD 1gb 4670
500 watt CIC psu
WD 500 gb sata 7200 RPM
Still you can play alot of games on high, crysis on high which is just playable ( I had 9600 but it broke) and its just playable on the 4670.. Damn I should of gotten 5670.
@Avataryoutuification I got a upgrade now i got the athlon and ram same but i got a hd 4670 sapphire ddr4 512mb love this babe : ) and yeah i only spent 250 bucks on mine.
Nice little first build, this is very addicting and you will be building more, thats for-sure! Im on like my 10th build right now and AMD/ATi is the only way to go... Buy a new motherboard and start from the bottom up and go AM2+ or AM3 with PCI-e. Good luck man!
Hell yes man, very addictive. I've built four other ground-up PCs after this one, and I am hoping to build another one for my brother. He wants a gaming PC, so I told him that I would look into it. He doesn't play anything real heavy. He's addicted to Command and Conquer and Farmville, lol.
The latest upgrade for my new gaming PC is an AM3 mobo with 8GB 1333MHz RAM, Crossfired 4890s, and a AMD 965 quad-core setup. It's by far faster than this old one, which I still have, lol.
I don't if I could, but I doubt it. It's just not fast enough. I don't even use it anymore. It's been in my closet for months. I might use it for a cheap HTPC.
No not at all. UT 2004 is about all it will play up to. Any other games more powerful than that game won't work. I am speaking of the CPU at stock speed. When I overclocked the CPU from 2GHz to 2.8GHz, I was able to play Modern Warfare just not maxed out. The video card sucks, ATi 1600XT. You gotta have at least a dual-core to run GTA VI. This is a single-core CPU.
I guess it did. That's why I've since upgraded to a new PC. later that year. The new one is alot faster. It's not an Intel+Nvidia setup but it's still very fast.
man I remember i was at frys when they rolled out the first 3DFX VOODOO CHIP cardS man I was already building rigs then choosing from graphic cards like S3,NUMBER 9, MATROX,
Man you really are trippin bro ..you may think your pc is old but i was building 486's way back when pci and vesa local bus were still having it out for the bus standard and voodoo wasnt even around yet....So in 1995 intel just started putting out the pentium 150 mhz,,and 166mhz and that wasnt even mmx either so playing cod4 ...BAHHHHH. YOU COULDNT EVEN RUN QUAKE bro!!! and AMD hadnt even purchased nexgen yet so there was no athlon dude..
I did it manually. I started by changing the FSB speed, little by little and restarting. When it crashed, I bumped up the CPU voltage, and kept turning up the FSB speed again.
I got as high as 2.8GHz stable, until I updated the BIOS, and then I could only get up to 2.6GHz. When I was finished, the FSB read 260, and the CPU voltage was 1.53v.
The voltage was high, but that CPU could handle the overvoltage with a good cooler.
It's a good PC. Old yes, but it has served me well. I don't really use it much but I am thinking of making it an HTPC. I was going to put huge heat sinks on the CPU and video cards and run it as silent as possible.
Hard to say what I will do because I still have some old gaming PC parts ready to go into another build. I might make my HTPC out of those parts and give this old PC to a relative or something.
hey .,, dont listen to the a-holes here !! Its old .. but its still gud !!! I thinks some of things there are even better then my Pc ... especially those cooler master coller !!
It's not anymore. It was pretty powerful a few years ago. I have since gotten new PCs and this one is going to be used for an HTPC or I'll give it to a relative.
I didn't know there was a 4TB hard drive, do you mean four 1TB hard drives? You should make a vid of your PC, the specs you posted look impressive.
I could play COD4 on low at 1440x900. I could set the graphics higher but it affected my framerate. My x1600xt was struggling to keep up with the game. I thought it did better than a regular 1600 video card would perform.
I am thinking of putting this thing back together, because I took it apart to get the CPU cooler, and then use it for an HTPC.
I'll use it until I get some new parts for the leftover parts I am not using right now.
933mhz dual cpu computer is what I had it 95 now it was a sever based computer but it was smokeing fast still can play most games but no cod4 ati 9600 doesnt cut it anymore :P
If your planning to upgrade, buy a whole new computer. If you want to play Modern Warfare 2 or something in that direction I advise you to assamble an i7 or a Phenom II based system.
I have a newer gaming PC I am currently upgrading for Modern Warfare II. I have an AMD 940 and 8gigs of RAM in my gaming PC. All that I need to do is to Crossfire 4890 XTs, and install Vista Ultimate 64.
if your mobo supports AGP 8x, you can upgrade to the AGP HD3850. I've heard it adds a crazy amount of performance. but its pretty pricey, about $115 on Newegg (May 2, 2009).
I don't really want to put any more money into this PC. I was thinking of buying a 3850 for it, but I decided to get a whole new system where I could have more memory, a faster and multiple core CPU, and a better SATA setup.
hell yea i got a cheap intel quad core for my new PC wish i would of went with AMD. Buy a bigger Quad core Amd for the same price if i would overclock mine. made the mistake. Intel always is first inline to come out with something im not looking for new just fast.
AMD and Intel are both good, but intel are one step ahead atm with their I7 cpus. Even the cheapest one beats ALL AMD's cpus at compression, encoding and all other crap like that by far. AMD has been known to have higher memory bandwidth then intel, but thats not true anymore, the I7 has about 1.5-2-3x the amount of mem bandwidth than the best cpu AMD has.
Although in gaming, you don't get that much more performance over the cheaper cpus.
I'm not a fanboy either, I own both AMD and Intel cpus.
I guess it all comes down to you get what you pay for. I think it's a credit to AMD to be able to produce great products in spite of Intel's obvious dominance in the CPU market. Intel may be the best, but AMD is the best for the money, if you don't have much, lol. Your opinion should mean more since you have both CPU manufacturers. I just cannot get myself to get one at least not yet.
Define fast, lol. It was very fast four years ago. I really don't use the inerts of this PC anymore. I have moved the parts to another case, and put new parts into this case. I was thinking of making this PC into a server PC with a couple of upgrades, or to give it to a family member. Someone will need it more than I will.
lol, it is huge. The thing I like best about this CPU cooler is that I can use any case fan and bolt it onto the cooler. Also, if a fans breaks down or I want to upgrade the fans, I can do that.
Dell does suck, but if you can play games on it, it's not so bad. If you can't play the newest games, then throw it out of your second story window and build yourself a new one, lol. You can even buy a cheap new PC with a dual-core CPU, and then buy a video card and more RAM. That should give you a half-way decent PC that will play games. Maybe not Crysis-like gaming, but you could play CoD4, UT3, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress2.
i see well i do have garrys mod hafe life 2 and a lot of steam games i have crysis but i do not have the space for it so yup but i will get a new pc soon.
Nooooo, I got this PC in 2005. There weren't too many dual-core CPUs that I could afford back then. There is no way I would ever get a single-core now with all of the great prices and performance todays CPUs offer.
Thanks, man! I really appreciate the sarcasm! In fact, I appreciate it so much that I'm going to continue this argument until one of us finally cracks!
Ok guys, it's not a big deal. I just figured that through deductive reasoning, people would figure out that I obviously wouldn't have made this PC in 1995.
Oh hell no it's not the best. It still can play a lot of games very well. I don't really use the PC anymore. I have upgraded my multimedia PC and I have a gaming PC. I just can't see myself getting rid of it.
I used a english to polish translator program. I guess it didn't do a very good job, lol. I used it to translate what you typed at first, and it seemed like a negative comment. I was just saying that I am sorry you don't my PC.
Ok. I understand. Center looks great, but it is loud. I have in my PC water cooling, and it is quiet. I must have quiet pc, but your is omitting noise ok. Pozdrawiam
It was noisy. The new set-up I have is very quiet. I made another video of my new parts in this same case. I love this case too much to give it up, lol.
The only 939pin CPU I could find anywhere that is still being sold, not on eBay, was an Opteron dual-core 2.4GHz CPU. It's expensive as hell too, almost 200 bucks. I have played with the option of upgrading to an AM2 setup. It's a little more expensive, but I should have a lot more upgrade options.
Thanks, CoD4 can get pretty hard. Multiplayer is awesome. I am still not that good, but the more you play, the better at it you get. It's so fun to play.
I remember that i was able to OC my old 3200+ all the way up to 3,7 ghz on my old PC, Now i have an e7200 core 2 duo 2,5ghz, 2gb ddr2 ram, 9800GTX+, MSI P43 motherboard and a 550 watt PSU:)
How the heck did you overclock your CPU that high?? That is amazing!! Nice new PC parts, I'm sure you PC is fast. Do you have to get a new power supply if you go SLI, or is it fine the way it is. Nvidia cards are known to use a lot of power. I don't know much about Nvidia cards. My 600W Ultra is good enough for lower powered ATi Crossfire Cards.
Well if i only had a motherboard that supported SLI well i dont think i'd have to get a new PSU.. I think it would handle it but personally i would never go SLI, There are almost no games out there that support it and the ones that do only increase in fps like 30 max. so yea, good luck with that old PC:)
That is the reason I would get a better video card, better framerates. It's nice to have maxed out graphics, especially with FPS where there are shadows and other textures that give you added situational awareness. I just hate playing FPS that is choppy or I can't get a good aim on my opponent.
Thank you. I agree, it is pretty crazy. When you think about it, if the price for an affordable gaming PC comes down, 400-700 bucks, but still retains a PC's higher quality than a console, some consolers might make the switch to PC. The consoles are too expensive, and can't do all of the things a PC can do. Today's consoles don't justify spending so much money for the performance. PCs do. New consoles overheat and breakdown a lot more than PCs, especially the 360. I would spend my cash with PCs.
Yeh im going to spend some money on new pc parts this year im going as budget as i can but still even then it would eat the graphical capabilities of my 360 alive theres just no competition between them at all! the great thing about a Pc is you can keep upgrading when needed and will still work out cheaper! Console are just to expensive the realease price of the ps3 was £550! where i was that's over $1000 i think
I am looking to put some new parts for a more dedicated multimedia PC. I was thinking of buying CoD4 and UT3 again to use as a server at one time. I changed my mind because it seems as if there is no one online to play on other servers. I love to play free-for-all, but there are either too many people in a small ass map like Shipment of Killhouse. or there is no one to play with. It gets kind of frustrating sometimes. Do you know how well single core CPU servers work with CoD4??
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. If I was to set-up a server PC, I would get as many cores that I could afford. 4 or 8 with some set-ups. Memory and CPU cores would be my main focus in pricing.
Holy crap!! That's way out of my budget, lol. If I was to set-up a server PC, I would go much cheaper because I would probably use it for LAN parties or something like that. I had no idea that server mobos get so expensive. I might just go with a simple PC build, and optimize it for server-like abilities. It won't work as well as a pure server build, but it should work more than adequate for a gaming server.
My desktop is an older gaming pc but its used to be a business computer for C&S and I don't think it was ever sold in stores. I have 4GB DDR1 ram, Upgraded processor from 2.80 GHz p4 to 3.40Ghz p4. I have no idea, I doubt it. I would play it on a console anyway.
Wigwahm 2 years ago
If your planning to upgrade, buy a whole new computer. If you want to play Modern Warfare 2 or something in that direction I advise you to assamble an i7 or a Phenom II based system.
TakeMeDown2FunkyT0wn 2 years ago
I have a newer gaming PC I am currently upgrading for Modern Warfare II. I have an AMD 940 and 8gigs of RAM in my gaming PC. All that I need to do is to Crossfire 4890 XTs, and install Vista Ultimate 64.
Wigwahm 2 years ago
if your mobo supports AGP 8x, you can upgrade to the AGP HD3850. I've heard it adds a crazy amount of performance. but its pretty pricey, about $115 on Newegg (May 2, 2009).
turbogtx 2 years ago
I don't really want to put any more money into this PC. I was thinking of buying a 3850 for it, but I decided to get a whole new system where I could have more memory, a faster and multiple core CPU, and a better SATA setup.

Whats the name of the PCI FAN ? please reply
Moonface00z 2 years ago
AMD is bomb and always will be best! unless intel makes like some octo core. lol
dav1dhoang 2 years ago
AMD all the way. Even if Intel makes a really really fast CPU, it will still cost so much that's it's not worth getting.
Wigwahm 2 years ago
Yea AMD is well worth the money Intel is a overpriced CPU
taliewacker2007 2 years ago
If Intel made cheaper CPUs with not as much power as most of their CPUs, but with outstanding overclock abilities, AMD might be in trouble.
Wigwahm 2 years ago
hell yea i got a cheap intel quad core for my new PC wish i would of went with AMD. Buy a bigger Quad core Amd for the same price if i would overclock mine. made the mistake. Intel always is first inline to come out with something im not looking for new just fast.
taliewacker2007 2 years ago
AMD and Intel are both good, but intel are one step ahead atm with their I7 cpus. Even the cheapest one beats ALL AMD's cpus at compression, encoding and all other crap like that by far. AMD has been known to have higher memory bandwidth then intel, but thats not true anymore, the I7 has about 1.5-2-3x the amount of mem bandwidth than the best cpu AMD has.
Although in gaming, you don't get that much more performance over the cheaper cpus.
I'm not a fanboy either, I own both AMD and Intel cpus.
timmy9632 2 years ago
I guess it all comes down to you get what you pay for. I think it's a credit to AMD to be able to produce great products in spite of Intel's obvious dominance in the CPU market. Intel may be the best, but AMD is the best for the money, if you don't have much, lol. Your opinion should mean more since you have both CPU manufacturers. I just cannot get myself to get one at least not yet.
Wigwahm 2 years ago
can i have it? lol
14Juffrey 2 years ago
is it fast?
14Juffrey 2 years ago
Define fast, lol. It was very fast four years ago. I really don't use the inerts of this PC anymore. I have moved the parts to another case, and put new parts into this case. I was thinking of making this PC into a server PC with a couple of upgrades, or to give it to a family member. Someone will need it more than I will.
Wigwahm 2 years ago
that is the biggest cpu fan ever!!!
kojiglasses 2 years ago
lol, it is huge. The thing I like best about this CPU cooler is that I can use any case fan and bolt it onto the cooler. Also, if a fans breaks down or I want to upgrade the fans, I can do that.
Wigwahm 2 years ago
my pc is shit its a dell xp i have a lot of games and i can play them all but i can not get new games now but i will get more space
67tr876 3 years ago
Dell does suck, but if you can play games on it, it's not so bad. If you can't play the newest games, then throw it out of your second story window and build yourself a new one, lol. You can even buy a cheap new PC with a dual-core CPU, and then buy a video card and more RAM. That should give you a half-way decent PC that will play games. Maybe not Crysis-like gaming, but you could play CoD4, UT3, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress2.
Wigwahm 2 years ago
i see well i do have garrys mod hafe life 2 and a lot of steam games i have crysis but i do not have the space for it so yup but i will get a new pc soon.
67tr876 2 years ago
wow...just build a new pc for 600 bucks which will play Crysis on its highest settings.

1995?????????
Livedude2008 3 years ago
LOL, I actually built the PC in Dec. 2005.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
Single core gaming PC? lol
Yoda8232 3 years ago
Single core yes, but it played both CoD4 and UT3. I actually beat CoD4 using this PC.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
Yeah in 2008 you could of gotten better, I have no idea why you would get a single core. -_-
Yoda8232 3 years ago
Nooooo, I got this PC in 2005. There weren't too many dual-core CPUs that I could afford back then. There is no way I would ever get a single-core now with all of the great prices and performance todays CPUs offer.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
Well you posted the vid 3 years late lol. :P
Makes sense then man. XD
Yoda8232 3 years ago
Three years late, but I just wanted to make a video of it.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
Ah then you should out in the description if someone else says something like I did. :)
Yoda8232 3 years ago
From 2005. he got it in 2005, for the last time.
Chandlermaki 3 years ago
Yeah he just fucking said that you idiot no need to repeat it, read it next time.
Yoda8232 3 years ago
Very mature of you. I wish I could use the word "fuck" like you can.

Someone's funny here.
Yoda8232 3 years ago
Thanks, man! I really appreciate the sarcasm! In fact, I appreciate it so much that I'm going to continue this argument until one of us finally cracks!
Chandlermaki 3 years ago
Ok guys, it's not a big deal. I just figured that through deductive reasoning, people would figure out that I obviously wouldn't have made this PC in 1995.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
Just put some annotations there or something in the description lol so this won't happen again.
Yoda8232 3 years ago
I might, if I feel like doing it, lol.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
haha
nice
but not the best
still nice tho
Cssfan101 3 years ago
Oh hell no it's not the best. It still can play a lot of games very well. I don't really use the PC anymore. I have upgraded my multimedia PC and I have a gaming PC. I just can't see myself getting rid of it.

iroonhide 3 years ago
I used a english to polish translator program. I guess it didn't do a very good job, lol. I used it to translate what you typed at first, and it seemed like a negative comment. I was just saying that I am sorry you don't my PC.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
Ok. I understand. Center looks great, but it is loud. I have in my PC water cooling, and it is quiet. I must have quiet pc, but your is omitting noise ok. Pozdrawiam
iroonhide 3 years ago
It was noisy. The new set-up I have is very quiet. I made another video of my new parts in this same case. I love this case too much to give it up, lol.

hehe very first gaming PC..but i think u should change ur cpu hehe..nice video dude 4/5..
syedjaafar 3 years ago
The only 939pin CPU I could find anywhere that is still being sold, not on eBay, was an Opteron dual-core 2.4GHz CPU. It's expensive as hell too, almost 200 bucks. I have played with the option of upgrading to an AM2 setup. It's a little more expensive, but I should have a lot more upgrade options.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
Keep that case..thats real nice
yaiknowscrewme 3 years ago
Yeah, I wanted to upgrade my case, but I can't find a case that comes close to this beauty.

CoD4 is hard!!! :s
FenixXeon 3 years ago
Thanks, CoD4 can get pretty hard. Multiplayer is awesome. I am still not that good, but the more you play, the better at it you get. It's so fun to play.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
I remember that i was able to OC my old 3200+ all the way up to 3,7 ghz on my old PC, Now i have an e7200 core 2 duo 2,5ghz, 2gb ddr2 ram, 9800GTX+, MSI P43 motherboard and a 550 watt PSU:)
KKFromTheBlock 3 years ago
How the heck did you overclock your CPU that high?? That is amazing!! Nice new PC parts, I'm sure you PC is fast. Do you have to get a new power supply if you go SLI, or is it fine the way it is. Nvidia cards are known to use a lot of power. I don't know much about Nvidia cards. My 600W Ultra is good enough for lower powered ATi Crossfire Cards.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
Well if i only had a motherboard that supported SLI well i dont think i'd have to get a new PSU.. I think it would handle it but personally i would never go SLI, There are almost no games out there that support it and the ones that do only increase in fps like 30 max. so yea, good luck with that old PC:)
Btw COD4 is freakin awesome:D
KKFromTheBlock 3 years ago
That is the reason I would get a better video card, better framerates. It's nice to have maxed out graphics, especially with FPS where there are shadows and other textures that give you added situational awareness. I just hate playing FPS that is choppy or I can't get a good aim on my opponent.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
ya i really like that case.
have yet to get anything bigger than a mid tower.
have a antec 300 case right now..
prety good case- very simple yet thoughtful in how the layout is.
Gthangorangatang 3 years ago
its ridiculous how much prices come down as new hardware is brought out but i guess if the person building is happy with it thats good nice build
feverofhell2 3 years ago
Wigwahm 3 years ago
Yeh im going to spend some money on new pc parts this year im going as budget as i can but still even then it would eat the graphical capabilities of my 360 alive theres just no competition between them at all! the great thing about a Pc is you can keep upgrading when needed and will still work out cheaper! Console are just to expensive the realease price of the ps3 was £550! where i was that's over $1000 i think
feverofhell2 3 years ago
thats a prity good setup........how much did u pay for it?
stiggelthesk8er 3 years ago
Thank you, at the time it was 1200 bucks. It's probably worth about half that now, lol.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
O_O 1200 dam now it must be like 600$ hay u should save up and make a sick gameing pc like a sever bord ect
Omellykim 3 years ago
I am looking to put some new parts for a more dedicated multimedia PC. I was thinking of buying CoD4 and UT3 again to use as a server at one time. I changed my mind because it seems as if there is no one online to play on other servers. I love to play free-for-all, but there are either too many people in a small ass map like Shipment of Killhouse. or there is no one to play with. It gets kind of frustrating sometimes. Do you know how well single core CPU servers work with CoD4??
Wigwahm 3 years ago
um if your useing a single core for a sever is not relly that good ied use a duo or a quad but if ur going more for a money wise get a duo
Omellykim 3 years ago
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. If I was to set-up a server PC, I would get as many cores that I could afford. 4 or 8 with some set-ups. Memory and CPU cores would be my main focus in pricing.
Wigwahm 3 years ago
well if you like amd and you whant over kill get the
(TYAN S4980G2NR Quad 1207(F) NVIDIA nForce Professional 3600)
or for intel Intel BOXD5400XS Dual LGA 771 Intel 5400 Aka(Skulltrail)
it whould be eazer for me to send the links but youtube is kinda harsh when it comes to "spam" :P
the amd bord is 689.99$
the intel skulltrial is 609.99$
Omellykim 3 years ago
