Did you ever figure out what was wrong with this horse? My horse is showing the exact same lameness and my vet said she needs to see a chiropractor. I would love to know if you all figured it out and what helped your horse.
I know you would have to trot to pick up on a favored leg, I am just suggesting that if the horse is lame then the bitumen might only make it worse. A softer medium might have been more kind whilst still allowing you to see the favored leg?????
your not suppose to trot or anything faster than a trot on hard surfaces even if the horse has shoes because if you do that...it compacts the hoof and will cause the horse to go lame,i know this because my vet told me and i read in a veterinarian book about that.your only suppose to walk horses on hard surfaces.

ugh, fail
You always trot a horse out on a hard, even surface to see the full extent of the lameness. Trotting in a ring can mask the lameness.

um why would u trot him on hard ground if you think his hooves are sore?

they were doing a lameness exam and you need to do those on a hard surface to see how bad the lameness is
