How to you make the particles stay on the floor? I have a vague idea on how to do it, but i can't match my floor with the particles.

try the online apple store if you have mac, theyll prob deliver for free , if you have windows... i dunno go kill yourself? nah kiddin, but seriously if your doin visual effects or editing etc, i strongly advise a mac

It's an illusion, there's a way to make it LOOK like they are hitting the ground but they arent.

Very cool! I keep meaning to have a go at the 'Harry Potter' magic effect myself. The only thing I'd say to improve is the framing and lighting of the shot, which makes it a little difficult to see what's happening in such a short clip.

Otherwise it's very cool!

this is pretty awesome. I would love to do this sorta thing but i don't have any programs close to after effects or any other program similar to it. If i edit my videos I use WMM and macromeia firworks to edit each frame lol. i hate doing it like that and its so boring so the effects really don't come out that good.

uhh i dont know how, lol im actually a beginner at after effects, besides what i learned in media tech class with a lower version of after effects. Oh, so like, the motion track works, how?

You select 2 contrasted points and the program tracks the motion of the two points, and you can apply the moition to any other layer or effect.

for example i want to add a castle in the background of a shakey camera shot. I motion track the background and apply the keyframes to the castle that i add in, and now the castle will stay in the spot and move with the camera movement.

nice, with visionlab you can also simulate light coming from the gun. Same thing with after effects too, but you can also motion track things, which is EXTREMElY convenient lol.
