arkyron1947-Yeah, driving down PCH,beer in one hand,California girl to your right, listening to the great music and hearing the waves. I think you will remember a friend of mine by the name of Dave Hull. We were in North Africa together,he in the USAF as a disc jockey and me in high school on an air force base there. Dave married a classmate of mine and they had two boys-Mark and Clark. When I was living out there off and on I was a student at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Great times.
TO All you queers out there that think this recording sucks... It doesn't, you suck! This is an authentic 1960's quality recording so pull your heads out of you I-pod ass and realize this beautiful piece of antiquity!
@dwj911ua I grew up listening to KRLA, KFWB and KDAY. We wore out the push buttons on the am- radio switching stations after each song. Great times the 60s in SOCAL.
one of my favorite songs of all time. he lived a few streets from me and i knew his kids . what a great song writer and VOICE , a much too forgotten talent.
Christine Trzyna: " We seem to have recieved a vicious comment from metrozapjoe because we thought to comment on a video he posted, which we loved. I've worked with Wes Bryan as his writing partner for some time. I've always found his memory sound, as are stacks of records with his name on them as writer, his memorabilia and photo collection, magazine and news articles on his career and much more. You don't have to like our blog but we think this kind of anger towards people YOU DON'T KNOW odd.
@CTNWB Vicious comment? You think youtubers are too stupid to realize your comments are nothing but commercials for your silly blog. So you thought to comment on a video I posted? I don't have any videos.
For somebody who's trying to sell something you sure do have an attitude. Wes Bryan asked in his comment if anybody has Johnny Rivers' version of THIS song. Rivers recorded Hey Little GIRL, a different song entirely. So much for Bryan's sound memory of what happened at Elvis' house parties.
I remember Johnny Rivers covering this song at Elvis' house parties in Los Angeles and I was wondering if anyone has a copy of Johnny's version from any source!
@CTNWB Oh yeah right, you remember Johnny Rivers at Elvis' house parties. Bet you remember Napoleon there too. And your friend Jimmy Bowen. Strange that if Bowen is such a great friend he didn't mention YOU anywhere in Rough Mix. That blog of yours, the one you plug all over YT, is a huge pile of copy-paste. Film at 11, you remember everybody and nobody remembers you.
I heard this song in my living room in Phoenix AZ acoustically while my Uncle Dorsey was still working on it...he had part of the lyrics written on a napkin...I remember him asking my Dad if he wanted to hear this new song... I will never forget that day...he sang a bunch of songs for us...
I was going with this girl back in 1962. She and her parents were moving away. I used to get bummed out every time I heard this song... wow, memories !
I met Dorsey once when I was around 10 years old. I really liked him, and he gave me one of his cassettes. I listened to that thing for years and years till I wore it out. He has a MUCH better version of this song, on that cassette, but I forgot the name of the album. It also had "come on down" ,"star born every minute", "Tall Oak Tree", and "It's over", among others. What a GREAT album. I wish I could get a copy somehow.

Very poor recording. Anyone have a better quality recording that is clear. This is really distorted. Pick of the week on KRLA in 1960.
