Shit happens. Had a very similar thing happen mself years ago. Shoddy bodged repair I did combined with realy strong winds, caused one of the wings to break off. As it tumbled through the air I tried to stab the throttle to cause a little more spin to slow its fall, but that just made it worse, and the other wing broke off. The it came down 5 times faster like a flaming dart and embeded itself in the ground. !! Luckily it was only a cesna, !! :-)

That duont super light weight drywall is perfect for that, and way nicer than an acrylic replair. The heavy weight doesn't have as much tack, and way beyond styrofoam.
You really got lucky on that crash, most of the time the jet would of caught fire and the turbine would of been a total lose, let that be a warning, when you fly and it starts smoking land it and check for any damage, good thing the turbine was saved.
Sorry for the loss. Tis the nature of the hobby, and anything mechanical in nature, including nature itself. I was flying my TREX 600 ESP well within visual range, turned it around, and all of a sudden it just floated away behind the trees and crashed. After rebuild all works perfectly. So the only thing I could attribute the cause, was Rx/Tx malfunction. So from then on in, I keep my DX8 antenna in a verticle L. Never had a problem after that.
I hate it when you get these 12 year old kids asking oh were can I buy the plane. Like it's a toy! I don't even fly rc planes and I know it's not a toy or just something you can buy like that you have to really build one of these and then on top of it they cost like thousands of dollars ok? Supposely was it an rookie or has been hit by a missile on wing, you see the wing falling at right close to it, maybe that happened because a problem on wing, so, the wing falls onto a close mountain to the right, now, going on reallity, this should be a explosion in a real-size jet, but was one little, don't has explosions, hey! did you know the end of the warranty? you can ask for repair!
Crashes suck, they suck even more if the plane was bought ready to fly, because then you don't have the molds and templates to make the new bits... Scratch built planes are easier to repair, because you already have the jigs etc.....
People worrying about stability of RC planes...
If you want to set up the plane to be unstable (anhedral and aft CG) gyros can be used to control on all axes if needed.
@xjet G'day. Um, the spar was probably not designed for over 3 G's Negative, as a Flightload. The Stall-High-&-Flop-Drop-Flat, style of a Deadstick-Landing would've had Wingtips drooping after wheels were rolling. The Gear is good up to 5-6 G, but the Top Spar-Cap cracked. Then the varying Flight loads flexed, & worked, the Crack. Too much Simplication & Lightness, had Bin-Added, in the Design... Beef up the spar, & have a Viewport, & then don't drop it !
We should be informed of who the kit maker is because that wing spar is totally inadequate. What was it made of? At that size and thickness, it would have had to be titanium.
Where is the RC fire truck? You cannot fly RC plane without stand-by RC fire safety. :-) LoL.

We should be informed of who the kit maker is because that wing spar is totally inadequate. What was it made of? At that size and thickness, it would have had to be titanium.

The spars look somewhat under-designed. I'd have used pipes. High-stress areas should have means of inspection.

in the video I can't see it, but if the wing broke in mid air, it was metal fatigue... it's annoying, but sometimes happen.

Wing spar broke and it looked like a glue seem as well...atleast the motor and guts are still savagable. You can alwasy upgrade to a raptor!
