Growing up in the Bronx in the late 60's early 70's I learned jailhouse rock from some the best in my neighborhood. I would slap box with many cats everyday for almost a year. One cat taught me an aggressive blocking style that made me hard to hit. I started teaching my nephew when he was about five. Not to push the negative but he's 30 now and has been in and out of jail and is known as a wicked street fighter with nice hands. 52 Blocks or Jailhouse rock is the truth.
This style reminds me of someone krumping, and it's called a prison fighting system since you trained in hand cuffs (saw in another video). This reminds me of Capoiera in sooooo many ways.

You are way off. Boxing as a martial art certainly did not originate in Africa. There were competitions in Egypt where people try to hit one another in the head, but that of itself does not constitute boxing (hitting someone in the head is just a very natural way for a human to want to attack another human)Same goes for wrestling, there are records of wrestling-like competitions in China that predate all Egyptian records.

@bandanaboo87 palm strikes can do more damage than punches if done right, a palm strike to skull will shake the brain and knock you out, a punch will bruise the skull and probably mash up your knuckles.
People who discount this form of boxing need to understand that for fighting, it certainly does have it's place. You have to understand that this is a fighting style rather than a boxing style.....very different mentality. What most people don't see is that, coming from a FMA background, there are many destructions here as well to break the opponents hand.
The only suggestion I would have is to glove up and alter your range since both are out of range. Spar at a range where you can be hit.

I know I'm biased because I train Muay Thai but this reminds me of Capoeira. Some useful stuff like using elbows to block but mostly dance and waste of motion. If your super quick it might just work though. Good Luck with the style.

No doubt that motion is important and Muay thai has it's weaknesses like any style, however I find that the power behind muay thai moves would counteract excessive movement. I've also seen some very fluid muay thai fighters minus the dance moves.

Hey, I wouldn't have believed it had I not tried what I know against IMmr52. I've studied enough martial arts to know that this 52 blocks is very real. It good enough as a fighting art to compete very well in the MMA. Don't doubt it till you test it. You'll be in for a hard reality check.

52 is not the only system that has developed defensive skills. Boxing has many moves that have been tested for the last 5000 years. Kick boxing has been time tested, also. Wrestling has been around for about 6000 years, it also has many defensive moves. So again, stop hating and learn what really works. Just because someone was in jail it does not give the title of a "solid fighter" in or out of jail.
Tell that to a seasoned fighter. You are basing your comments on from 52 blocks jargon. There are many defensive moves in boxing, there is ducking, rolling, evading, parry, redirect, clinch and arm blocking. This style reminds me of someone krumping, and it's called a prison fighting system since you trained in hand cuffs (saw in another video). This reminds me of Capoiera in sooooo many ways.

My brother I don't idolize Mother dear, my statement was and is that he/she was nice with jailhouse boxing, that is what we are talking about. The system originated in the joint, yea we all jailhoused back in the day at block parties or whereever there was a throwdown. A circle was formed and we went toe to toe no backing up I remember a many fights like that in Brownsville and Bushwick ave where I grew up in the 60s and 70s. I thank God I survived those streets. There were competitions in Egypt where people try to hit one another in the head, but that of itself does not constitute boxing (hitting someone in the head is just a very natural way for a human to want to attack another human)Same goes for wrestling, there are records of wrestling-like competitions in China that predate all Egyptian records.

People who discount this form of boxing need to understand that for fighting, it certainly does have it's place. You have to understand that this is a fighting style rather than a boxing style.....very different mentality. What most people don't see is that, coming from a FMA background, there are many destructions here as well to break the opponents hand.
The only suggestion I would have is to glove up and alter your range since both are out of range. Spar at a range where you can be hit.

I know I'm biased because I train Muay Thai but this reminds me of Capoeira. Some useful stuff like using elbows to block but mostly dance and waste of motion. If your super quick it might just work though. Good Luck with the style.

No doubt that motion is important and Muay thai has it's weaknesses like any style, however I find that the power behind muay thai moves would counteract excessive movement. I've also seen some very fluid muay thai fighters minus the dance moves.

Yo, I saw a few of your vids. Liked them a lot. What is the MA u practice? Some of it looks like 52 but there are lots of joint locks and breaks that I don't think 52 has. Or at least I'm not aware of.

Ill tell you what a martial art is not.
Its not aimless jabbing out at your opponent with additional extraneous movements between jabs (that block nothing) and calling it a fighting system.
In a real situation, with that off balanced horse stance, homeboy would kick Mr 52 right in his nuts.
All this is bad boxing with a little I used to watch Saturday karate flicks with my brother mixed in for show.

Hey, I wouldn't have believed it had I not tried what I know against IMmr52. I've studied enough martial arts to know that this 52 blocks is very real. It good enough as a fighting art to compete very well in the MMA. Don't doubt it till you test it. You'll be in for a hard reality check.

you can still take real krav maga. you just have to be smart about the lineages. don't just take classes without first reading and looking it up. you made the assumption that you can but we live in a globalized world its not impossible to find a good place.

i am taking krav maga. and i have done my research. the lineage is from israel. and i do get the real environment chances. you don't exactly need to be in the street to formulate real life scenarios. and thats what im saying. not every lineage of krav maga is an overpriced commercialized version. Thats why i did my research before i took it .

52 is not the only system that has developed defensive skills. Boxing has many moves that have been tested for the last 5000 years. Kick boxing has been time tested, also. Wrestling has been around for about 6000 years, it also has many defensive moves. So again, stop hating and learn what really works. Just because someone was in jail it does not give the title of a "solid fighter" in or out of jail.

Tell that to a seasoned fighter. You are basing your comments on from 52 blocks jargon. There are many defensive moves in boxing, there is ducking, rolling, evading, parry, redirect, clinch and arm blocking. In kick boxing there are shin blocks, foot stops, jamming, stop hits, sliding to the right or left. Educate yourself, I have for the last 25 years. Look to the past to understand the future. Don't believe the hype of 52.

Your history is corrupt. Read some books, better yet, I will teach you. Boxing and wrestling were developed in Egypt, then from there to Greece, then perfected in Rome, Italy. 52 blocks has not been around that long, and that tells you a lot about your education in history of the martial arts. If you like, I will send you a time line on the entire history of organized fighting. Inmates call for back up all the time, so do CO's.
