  • @gemmadan

John, I am so very happy this little project is still bringing you joy. The organs I built from your plans have brought me unimaginable pleasure. I have many fond memories of our time in Clophill and Flitwick, your hospitality making a wonderful visit.

    Thank you,

    dan

  • john SMith is on youtube. I beleive his channel is called " gemmadan"

  • that is really cool..did you come up with the whistles on your own? just wondering how the bellow system works.

  • @Parmesana

The whistles and bellows are patterned after those of a cuckoo clock. There are no valves, air is drawn in through the mouth of the whistle, then when the cam allows the spring loaded assembly to drop, the air is forced out quickly, making the sound.

  • that is the most amazing little invention I have ever seen. It is so so clever and dare I say adorable!

You mus make a huge batch and sell them....they would prove most popular. very clever indeed and very sweet. How long did that take to make? the art work is good too!

    WAG group

  • how did u make this?

  • Built with bits of scrap wood, some thin leather, a few pieces of wire, a couple screws, a little paint, and a lot of experimentation!

  • Whats automaton?

  • What are the things going up and down?

  • The sound is created with two small wooden organ pipes, with individual bellows underneath. Cams lift each spring loaded pipe assembly then allow the pipe to drop, compressing the air in the bellows and blowing the pipe.

  • soo coool!

  • Dan, This little project is a true stroke of genious on your part. I know John Smith must appreciate this very much. I can "see" the little organ grinder in a prominate location in his home. BobH

  • Thanks Bob. It was a great honor to be able to present it to John in person. He enjoyed it very much.

  • HAAHAHAHAHA FUNNY :P XD
