Ordered SL300, came from China. the only good quality the Thinkpad has is the screen, every thing else is been a pain. the manual buttons don't work most of the time , no night light witch is a must for a lap top and the shut down and sleep mode is been a nightmare. Very disappointed.

This is not a ThinkPad. They may be selling it under ThinkPad brand, but it's not a ThinkPad, they stopped making them in 2005.

Maybe this model but with X/T/R series, Lenovo are continuing the legacy of IBM Thinkpad. I agree that this laptop is sucky but I don't agree that they stopped making Thinkpads in 2005...

Yeah i overacted after seeing this model on the video with gloss and everything. But yeah x t r series are pretty true to IBM. I wish that they would keep the rainbow colored sign, even if they can't or don't wanna use IBM sign they should make THinkPad sign rinbow color.

"Budget ThinkPad" = a big joke. The ThinkPad's legendary quality isn't supposed to come at a wimp price. If you want a ThinkPad, then just pay the few hundred extra dollars for a T or X series. The SL series is for dinosaurs. =P

i just got mine like 2 days ago and i had a problem with the power manager. i tried to shutdown but it kept restarting. could it be the cause of the vista because im thinking that windows xp might make a better processor

Glossy computers are fucking stupid, making it shinier and more prone to fingerprints doesn't add the computer, it just makes it sticky. It doesn't even look any better it just makes it more reflective. Fuck companies that make a good computer only to cover it in gloss. Damn.

The SL300 is not a real Thinkpad. Thinkpads are business notebooks, but this is a consumer device. Glossy display and glossy style... this is a no go for real Thinkpad fans.

i dont like lenovo desings, the desings are very old and office style, for example sony and others offer like a modern style with more colors. just my opinion. :)

true, but i think lenovo will have a change very soon. The current styles from lenovo looks a lot sophisticated and more business look. One more thing that is pretty impressive with lenovo is that they have the water protection on they're keyboard which most other brands don't support.

Thats because they are following IBM. Just have a look on the first ThinkPads. Classic red dot on the keyboard and black finish will never change. And Im glad of it
