I started using disposable razor, but they were not leaving a smooth and shinny head. Last week bought the Gillette Proglide (manual), what a different, it leave my scalp smooth as a baby. Still working after 7 or 8 shaves even without the green strip that did not last long.
Try a DE razor. There is a learning curve, but you get really close. Also dry/clean blades completely after use for extra life/use. Menthol shaving creams close pores. Badger brush and real shaving creams are the real deal. Also go with grain first then follow with 90degrees and then against grain.
i have been shaving since 2004,and i have never cut myself or got razor bumps,i have tride about all there is from gillette(my favorite brand).i only use the double bladed gillette pivots and found they work perfect, and i no longer use shaving cream on head or face...i been useing plain old irish spring soap(original is exstra slick.take hot shower, apply soap lather, shave with grain first then against.i always get a smooth effortless shave.
second responce: i shaved my face today and came out pretty Good no Blood this time and im getting Faster and smoother.. I encourage you to invest in it,, its very fun, Dangerous, scary,,Rewarding Hobby...write me if you have any ???'s i can recomend video's to watch and learn from....enjoy
Ive been shaving my head bald since 2001, the mach 3 and the fusion work the best,, but they are very xpensive... Want to try something that cost Less??? Try using a "Straight Razor" Its Freeken Awsome, it takes alot of practice but it feels so good to plow it through your hair,, but it will give you a Blood Bath if you dick up...
@HappierHealthierYou everyone at my last job loved the shaved look. I now work for myself, so not concerned with coworkers' opinions, since I have no coworkers!
Regarding the Philips QC5055, I own 2 of these and one I've been using it for 2 years despite the fact that I poured water on the black handle when I was washing it, I forgot I throwed it into the sink but it works even now and my charger is dead and I'm charging it with a phone charger(5V - 180mA) and from usb from 2 months now.
@IMaiden89 It's best to go with the grain first, and then just at an angle after that. If you go completely against it, you're likely to get a rash of some sort.
Great video review like watching all your stuff , but i haven't done the real head shave yet , i'm still doing the clipper shave , but someday i'll try the head shave , you have me almost talked into it lol.........enjoy your video's buddy.
I find the best razor too use is the Schick Hydro 3 or 5 blade!! i use the 3 blade one! i can use the blade for at least 2 weeks!! Gillette blades cost way too much! try the Schick Hydro!!
@EEaudio09 Been shaveing my head for a year as well, you should try the Schick Hydro and a post a vid review of it!! hands down best razor for the head!!
@ny5280 I just gave the Hydro 5 a spin - it worked great! It cleans out much faster than the Fusion does. I just might have to consider switching razors...
@EEaudio09 hey bud, head looks great. i started shaving mine with no guard on the clippers (cant even grab the hairs) how doe sthe work place react to the cut? im 25 and inbetween jobs
