Nice, the F75 can pick up a 3 ring minie ball at 1ft no problem and it will give a soild strong hit, about 13 -15 inches away it's a faint signal but you can tell a difference in the sound of the signal the closer it gets, just like prospecting mode on your MXT.
I just coin hunt with my MXT. I have noticed that the relic mode seems to have some advantages over coin and jewelry mode. I had thoroughly hunted a small area I knew had a penny spill. I got about a dozen pennies, after switching to relic mode I found as many or even more I had not detected on coin mode. Does the air test really give an accurate determination, the soil composition, density, and metal composition creates a scenario that an air test can't reproduce.
I thought the MXT has a mixed mode, to where even if the targets too far away for discrim high tone, it will still give you a mid tone letting you know something is there. In the video it looked like you had your discrim set at 2? Is that correct?
Good test, but why not mount the camera so it shows the side vies of the coil and we can see for ourselves how far away it is, as opposed to your estimates. Better yet, but a ruler behind it and really get an accurate reading. The basic idea, to use prospecting mode, is excellent.
I havn't done a bona fide soil test. However, there are some VERY experienced diggers near here that absolutely swear that it adds a couple inches in depth. I figure either way, it's a good option, especially if you're digging in hot ground such as DIV hunts

Did I see it correctly, the trac-toggle was on ground? And why didn't you use a more common target like a clad dime, for example?

Cause for me the more common target is a bullet...I don't coin hunt at all...just CW relics. Trac may have been on ground...not sure

Hmm...but it's very important to have the trac-toggle in lock position for proper air-testing. (see also manual pg.7; *special note box... anyway.
Good Luck in your hunts.
