This election was ripe for a 3rd party until about a week agao, now, the 3rd parties have become almost a non issue.

You can vote for McBama or waste your uncounted vote on Ron Paul even though Paul has said not to write him in. I have to give the libertarian party attention, not for Barr, but for America! As a Libertarian, I had opinions on the my party's nominee for president. Your comment, if I understood it correctly, states that advancing the party is more important than standing around bitching about the nominee, like a 14 year old girl, crying cause 'mommy' didn't buy her the 'cool' brand of jeans. His becoming a Libertarian does seem somewhat disingenuous or dubious at best but he certainly can talk a good game of it. I think that you share a common suspicion with many of us out here. Even Ron Paul says he talks a good game but has no record that reflects these values he suddenly supports. Things that make you go HHMM.

only focusing on Barr's negatives does nothing for advancing libertarian ideals. The libertarian movement won't go anywhere until we learn to take the bad with the good. Barr is no hero and he isn't a good representative of the libertarian party, but I think his candidacy will move the libertarian party forward.

I respect your effort to keep him on a tight rope. We need to keep our efforts up at taking over the other parties as well because there is no doubt that you are right in your premise that the big government parties will always collude to sabotage third parties.

Again, 100% with you. And I was all about Barr and the Libertarians this year, but then, the more I learned about Barr... Hey stay positive, right?:)

Ideally, the Party could scrounge up a hollow Jesse VenturaESQ candidate, who's policy comes from a Think Tank compromised of real live Libertarians, but also equiped with a seperate Campaign Staff consisting of mainstream squares.

Until then, the Party really needs increased pressence at the State and Local levels.
