Thanks for the post. The whip cream thing was news. The CIA thing thats a problem. Has Ron Paul endorsed anyone yet? I was hoping Jessie Ventura would run.
Just one correction: No one is ever EX-CIA. Trust is off the table. BUt, the question of party loyalty and maintaining a commitment to log term party goals remains. CRK
Barr did this, Barr did that, Barr was this, Barr was that.......what matters is what he will fight for now!!!! You can vote for McBama or waste your uncounted vote on Ron Paul even though Paul has said not to write him in. I have to give the libertarian party attention, not for Barr, but for America! At least Barr will have libertarians yelling at him all day everyday steering him. That is what I am glad about, not Barr. You act like the president is a dictatorship. It isn't, vote libertarian!
I like your energy and honesty. I too want the party to advance. shanklinmike, you're close... close to flipping me. I'm not there yet, but I'm impressed, CRK
Sorry, I forget we are allies for liberty sometimes. I'm just tired of seeing libertarians fight over stuff and we never come together. That is why I get passionate. I am tired of the big government parties always winning because libertarians won't come together. I really didn't mean to piss you off. Shank
As a Libertarian, I had opinions on the my party's nominee for president. Your comment, if I understood it correctly, states that advancing the party is more important than standing around bitching about the nominee, like a 14 year old girl, crying cause 'mommy' didn't buy her the 'cool' brand of jeans. Right?!
Maybe you got a point. I will have to 'study' on it more, CRK
His becoming a Libertarian does seem somewhat disingenuous or dubious at best but he certainly can talk a good game of it. I think that you share a common suspicion with many of us out here. Even Ron Paul says he talks a good game but has no record that reflects these values he suddenly supports. Things that make you go HHMM.
Yeah, he not only didn't support Libertarian causes; he foughtr against them.
His record proves that he's capable of speaking in favor of things he doesn't believe in himself; so you can't rely on how well he speaks on a subject.
"sold it like a franchise" interesting words. He must be with the neocons or democrats of today. Franchises are exactly what our current gov't has been all about....unfortunately their franchise fee is above 100% and leaves very little room for true growth......take your sunglasses off sunshine.
only focusing on Barr's negatives does nothing for advancing libertarian ideals. The libertarian movement won't go anywhere until we learn to take the bad with the good. Barr is no hero and he isn't a good representative of the libertarian party, but I think his candidacy will move the libertarian party forward.
Very fair, very honest, very good point. I felt a need to put the facts on Barr out there, but I respect your comment and I hope to come around to your way of thinking by November, CRK
I respect your effort to keep him on a tight rope. We need to keep our efforts up at taking over the other parties as well because there is no doubt that you are right in your premise that the big government parties will always collude to sabotage third parties.
Again, 100% with you. And I was all about Barr and the Libertarians this year, but then, the more I learned about Barr... Hey stay positive, right?:)
Ideally, the Party could scrounge up a hollow Jesse VenturaESQ candidate, who's policy comes from a Think Tank compromised of real live Libertarians, but also equiped with a seperate Campaign Staff consisting of mainstream squares.
Until then, the Party really needs increased pressence at the State and Local levels.

This election was ripe for a 3rd party until about a week agao, now, the 3rd parties have become almost a non issue.
Paul isn't going to endorse anyone I don't think. Look for Paul/Ventura 2012 under the Libertairian banner, CRK

No need to apologize; you were being real.

No, this video is all about how Bob Barr isn't really a Libertarian, he's a "Company Man" which to me, is derogatory.

I think the Green Party is more of a Lifestyle, than a political philosophy. But I respect that you are interested in the environment.
