This is one of the greatest bands of all time!!!! I was lucky enough to see them play live in philadelphia for both tours, you'd prefer an astronaut and downward is heavenward. I missed their first cd. I was bummed because they wouldn't play green to me at the TLA show. There was a rumor that they were contracted to do a fourth album? I have their solo albums but nothing comes close to capturing the hum sound.
@crimsonsamuraiftw While most of the recommended bands from itunes, amazon and the ilk as well as some of the fan recommendations have similar Hum elements, they always seem to miss at least one element which makes me appreciate how special and unique the total Hum experience really is. Matt's vocal style and lyrics are especially unique and what stands out as the most underwhelming element from the other bands...IMHO of course.
@crimsonsamuraiftw Someone mentioned Shiner... that guy now headlines a killer band called the Life and Times... listen to Tragic Boogie... they took the mantle in a good way
I lost a piece of my soul when these guys broke up. Then I was hit again when Catherine Wheel quit. Nothing sounds like this anymore. Best driving music ever!
I DOWNLOADED THIS SON WITH THE TITTLE "CYANIDE" AND IT WAS WROTE BY METALLICA T-T SINCE THAT DAY I THOUGH THAT DEATH MAGNETIC WAS A DIFS ERENT ALBUM CUS HIS VOIC ITS LIKE JAMES HETFIELD VOICE BUT MORE LIKE TEENAGER xD
What a trip, I actually edited this video... I'm thinking in 97 or 98? Jerry Casale from Devo was the director. Never met the band... fun video to cut, I miss those days!
@MacKeviner Yeah. No question about it. When I think harder it's the same chordal approach & beauty of slide but not the arrangement or vocal melody. Drums are similar. But varied enough. Then comes the context of their music etc.
boy am I ever glad that radio waves and TV replaced music like this with My Sweet 16 and Nickleback and Creed! Thanks so much Fred DUrst you da man ///'//''/'///'/;;'/';'

The guitar soundscape and riffing is bloody similar to those of Creed. On this song at least. And I prefer this to Creed. Should make them proud.
