Nice car you have there and nice driving. Your patience kept you away from that crash. What car is that number 18 next to you at the start of the race?
Just had my baby painted, got rid of the hideous banana yellow from the previous owner, will be posting new videos soon, got racing at Sebring this weekend.
#18 is a brand new model from Riley very similar to their daytona prototype cars but less expensive, uses a very tuned Corvette engine, more for club racing, etc. Its a pretty cool car, I sat in it last time to check it out.
Thank you for the info. Once again, awesome driving. I used to love racing karts in Brasil, but had to stop when I came to the US. I'm trying to get funds for an all electric race car, but with this economy, nobody seems interested.
WITF is a Vette racing with Radicals? I meself am a Vette driver, but from a saftey aspect AYFKM? I wouldn't want to be in a radical and be t-boned by any full size car.
If you replay the video in slow-motion you can see that the Corvette is in front of the Radical at turn in. He is also within the PBOC rules as mentioned by pdisme since the Radical is not up to his front axle.
Regardless of his past incident history, he will loose this battle no matter what because the 3 cars involved in the incident are non other than the 3 board members who run PBOC. Game over! He will never be allowed to race with PBOC again.
Close call. It looks like the Vette is ahead at turn in, although doesn't have the racing line.
But, crucially in my opinion, he left a car's width between him and the apex - and that's all he's got to give. Agree that the SR3 had no chance once he put it on the grass, but there's definitely room for him through that turn 1 apex.
If the Radical was in any doubt, he should have conceded the corner - he was surely aware of the Vette (ahead) at turn in?
wow, I disagree entirely with that call. The vette did nothing wrong...a hole opened up and he took it. What is he supposed to do, stop? slow down and collect the field? The # 50 car got suprised, veered left to avoid the vette, hit the grass and shot back across the track. Thats just racing. Its ridiculous to have the sports racers on a track w/ sportscars to begin with. But if you want them together and don't want them to run into the back of you at the start.why not split start.
Judgment aside, PBOC rules say overtaking driver must be at the slower car's front axle in braking to have rights to the corner. It's one of those rules that only gets enforced when you cause an incident of course, since obviously a sports racer is not going to back off when they can brake 200 feet later than another driver, but this driver was already on probation for other incidents and it was a new violation. The track TV showed contact with the sports racer before he was forced off.

Good point. :)

Sounds like the FIA and FOTA row was a mere playground squabble compared to the politics of PBOC...!
To finish first, first you've got to finish...

Not really, first driver I've heard of getting the boot in the two years I've raced with them; try SCCA if you want politics.

Racing incident in my humble opinion.

Nice job avoiding that...
Little confusing though, how did he wipe out like that? Overcorrect?

The corvette broke his right suspension upright when he drove across the front of the car.
