Impressive display of discipline and pride, each of those Recruit Troopers should be proud, as I'm certain they are. All negative comments listed are posted out of jealousy and a misunderstanding of the selfless job each and every State Trooper and Police Officer perform on a daily basis. Hail Hail State Police!
It is amazing as to "Why" police departments do not train police officers to understand the differences in social structures within our society, instead of training them to think that they (alone) are the only way towards freedom. This was just like my training in the police academy and it does not help that much. The police of course are essential as "one" spoke in the wheel, but not the whole wheel. "Hail, Hail State Police"? We need a better understanding of the history of power systems.
This is not training. Its part of the graduation process which shows tradition of the agency and a far more interesting ceremony than a typical municipal agency. The paramilitary training is only one aspect of the training. It does have a purpose. Most troops do work alone so thinking alone is required. There is a rank structure within the agency, but that military training base and attitude doesn't need to cross over into dealing with civilians in day to day contacts and usually doesn't.
@yt324 To answer your first question, State Police Academies are generally paramilitary, meaning their training parallels that of the US Military in areas such as discipline and high physical fitness standards.
As far as your second question goes, I am a little unsure of what you mean. I believe they can live anywhere they want to in the state, but I know they're assigned to a barracks. If you are asking if Troopers can choose what barracks they want to go to, the answer is no.
These guys are totaly gay. We use to play something similar like this when we were 5-8 years old. I changed my mind about joining the CT State Police after seeing this video. I am now a security gaurd at Wal-Mart........."A Troopers life was made for me, bla blah gayness".
We all want to believe that these people will live up to the incredibly high moral standards expected of those in authority. However, never forget that some fail to live up to those standards and are protected by the rest to the detriment of our rights.

I was there watching the 2007 graduation. My son was in it and they all was a proud bunch of fine troopers.I was so proud of him .Cant wait till I get copy of the video.
They've always been pretty decent to me...so what if they act like robots now and then? seriously folks, as a taxpayer in this state I really can't complain about these guys....good dudes generally speaking.
Although most agencies start at age 21, a few start at 18, as stated. Quite a few more start at 19, especially in the southeast. Jobvertise dot com / members / USACOPS has some job listings; you can click through for the requirements. Usacops dot com itself has contact info for thousands of depts. A central location for state police/hwy patrol info is statetroopersdirectory dot com. I'd post these as direct links but I don't think YouTube allows it. Good luck!
Good caller, great cadence, and an outstanding display of tradition. From your brothers across the nation, keep up the good work gentlemen. "Squared away and here to stay."
All of this military bravado is fine and good but lets hope it doesn't go to these Troopers' brains. Sadly far too many of these Troopers think they are above everyone including local police.
Whatever happened to all of those corrupt Connecticut Troopers in the Bethany barrack who convicted INNOCENT people of fake DWI's??
You know you are right. We should just disband the state police now. Let the street gangs just take over the state. Far too many assholes like you live in the safety these brave Troopers provide. Then you criticize them over bullshit. Shame on you, gutless slugs like you could'nt even wear their uniform. God Bless the CSP.
dude shut up...law enforcement is a brotherhood. So if you criticize one, you criticize all. Law enforcement is the only barrier between our communities and the barbarianism of society, so you should learn have a lot more respect for them.
This is why I hate YouTube's posting structure. Who are you responding to? I'm guessing it's mkrsk, but that's 4 posts down. It can't be me, but it looks that way. I thought the ceremony was awesome, and I had nothing but praise for these Troopers. Hell, I'm a cop. I had a similar academy experience, and I agree with everything you wrote.
A few years ago I was stopped by a Connecticut State Policeman for speeding while taking a driving vacation in New England. He was very respectful and business-like, but I felt more like I was dealing with a U.S. Marine versus your typical cop/trooper. Now it all makes sense.
I am with the military I watch this video and can relate how much work goes into looking good but these troopers from connecticut are very sharp!!! Keep up the good work gentleman respected ladies...
