@19981009 actually in case you didn't know, they do give you a needle in your hand in case you need somthing when your asleep but they take it out before you wake up again :)

@1coolk It depends either gas or iv I'd think a iv though because incase they you begin to wake up they cant just put the gas mask on with their tools in your mouth but yeah idk if you get to choose either like with me but different thing not even surgery but nothin to do with tonsels lol but still with camrea and other pipe goin doin mah throat they just gave me a iv (even tho peepz said i could choose and i woulda chosen gas mask cause it seemsl ike fun lol..but yeah anyway idk

I just saw a 7 year old kid have his tonsils removed while he was still conscious and without any anesthetic. Don't complain about any pain, just imagine what this kid felt.

Oh people calm down don't be bitches, i just had mine out on the 28th and the same night i was talking/even yelling at my mother just fine lol yeah theres some pain and you just have to be careful not to eat solid food, i think this is so sweet once that mask was on i was ouuuuuuut lol was a totally fun experience no need to worry =)

@EmoMousie Just had mine taken out a week ago. Honestly, wasnt painful for me at all really. Just eat alot of ice chips, and take your pain killers to keep the edge off. From day 1 I was eating things like Easy Scrambled Eggs, Mashed Potatos, and Pasta Alfredo. Of course applesauce, ice cream, popsicles are a given. Youll do fine, I'm quite surprised that it wasn't even close to as bad as I thought it was going to be!

HELLO PEOPLE, iam daz 29, and i had my tonsills out 3 days ago and oh my god ive never had pain like it in my life!!!!!!!! its not to bad when your out of your head on painkillers but when they wear off be warned!!! i cant even smoke due to them might get infected... so as you can imagine iam not one of the nicest people to be around right now, but iam sure in a few days i will feel alot better!!! mine were removed because they were to large!!

This experience was the most painful I've ever endured, but they said my tonsils were way too big that I simply had to get them removed, I had no choice. Hell, I went to ENT with issues with my nose, came out with a scheduled tonsillectomy the week after! Not what I expected, and now it's day 5 after surgery and the pain has been hellish, but time is passing, should get better. Now I wait for my septoplasty which is what I actually scheduled my damn appointment for, not for tonsils.. OUCH lolz

I felt the same way when I had mine taken out at 21. Does the cauterizer do most of the surgery. I guess it can cut as well as seal blood vessels, right?

every winter i get this bad cold and a really sore neck went to the doctor guess wat the tonsils we infected so rather than getting mine taken out i was given 2 choices 1. get the removed or 2. Keep them i kept the because it gets me 2 weeks off skool :) lol
