Back then they used to call it TOMBOY ATTITUDE.Gals who grew up with boys & brothers felt no shame in climbing trees, riding bikes & roller skating. BUT BACK THEN ALSO..THIS SONG WAS A HIT: WHEN A GIRL CHANGES FROM BOBBY SOX TO STOCKINGS. It was normal that a young kid (girl) be amorphous especially at the age of 9..but when the blossoming began she began acting LIKE A LADY!..MINE IS A NON MALICIOUS VIEWPOINT...& BELIEVE ME I TOO WAS A TOMBOY AT THAT AGE & STILL A LADY. PAX VIA MUSIC.VIVA MARIA!
I love this movie and its not about them being gay thats just how things were back then but if you see a woman hugging another woman they have to be gay... andd thats the stupidest thing I have heard.
Thank you for your efforts, insight, creativity and Truth. The real love story has always been C&K's-- and it is always more than gratifying to discover others who have the inner vision to see and appreciate it.
ugh no its noot secrely fag tard its back when people were innocent in though secret love was about calamity and no she wasn't butch she was what was called a tom boy aka a tough frontierswoman....that doesnt make her a dyke and she wasnt a dyke at all Bill Hickock knew that
I absolutely adored this film as a child, watched it over and over, much to the annoyance of my family... though i could never quite figure out what i really liked about it. This may just explain it :L
Calamity Jane is just about the gayest straight movie ever. I watched it with my girlfriend and our mutual friend, and we spent the whole film shrieking in glee. It was just terrific. Calam and Katie were so clearly in love with each other. I'd love to read your scene by scene analysis, to see if you picked up on anything I missed!
