Did some cad testing that may interest you and explain what makes the Dumble so desired.
The tone stack is Fender based with some value changes. With the bass and treble completely cut, you get flat frequency response.
Most interesting is with these controls cut, when you cut the midrange or boost it, a linear pot, it simple shifts the flat waveform in volume-effectively boosts and cuts the entire flat wave form.
So there's the magic to Dumble, nothing amazing or even new for that matter.
i think it was pretty obvious that i was kidding about the "face melting gain" quote. bottom line is.. clone or no clone.. this amp bores me, and i've played better. sorry fanboys.
thanks for the critisism. The guitar is a home made one, so 200 dollars are just about right, although it's not a dobro..
During Christmas, a local guitar player unplugged his 65 Super, and used the Dumble for the whole show in stead, and he loved the sound. I guess the microphone on my camcorder doesn't do the amp justice.
Look up Brian Wampler effects pedals! and sign up on his membership list, its free :) and you get a discount when buying one of his pedals. Ive just ordered the Ecstasy pedal, I think I have to wait about 3 weeks for it? I live in the uk! so what I paid came to about 170 dollars all together :) thats including a discount (was about 40 dollars off)
Brian Wampler or known as Indy guitarist has some videos on his site! and on here, you can here some of his pedals, I really love what I heard :) another guy that makes great pedals is under the name FOXROX, you should hear the FOXROX Flanger pedal! not avalible at the moment :( its pricey! but the sound clips ive heard! damn! best ive heard for a flanger
hey I was wondering how much it would cost to have one of these made by you? my number is # 14176283691. I am gigging musician and I love the tone. I don't want the knobs to move automatically I am rather old fashioned when it comes to that stuff. I like reverb and tremolo at max. LOL. Just admiring your work. please give me a call and just leave a message if I am not home. leave it for Darrenn Walters. I would love one of those amps.
Just a question. Dude, my background in electronics just goes as far as building a fuzz face clone. What do I need to know in order for me to be a ble to build a fully functioning tube amp like this Dumble clone? What books do you recommend? Thanks!
Lovely tone, though I agree that it's hard to hear through your crap microphone.
Nevertheless, nice build.

@guns1rose Dumble custom rebuilt alot of amps as well as from scratch, all the actual instrument derived schematics had channel switching.
Renshen1957 1 year ago
I'd be so impressed that it even worked, I couldnt get to "tone"...any of you guys that make your own amp_WOW!
To be honest, it sounds like a Tweed Deluxe, mucho mids, nice.

nicocopo 2 years ago
It sounds like an amp of it´s own to me. Not exactly a ODS but very nice in it´s own fashion.

Is that a ceriatone?
khalilhab 3 years ago
No, I made the chassis, front and back plate, and wired the whole thing, using the hybrid-a schematics, with some mods
DumbleODS 3 years ago
could you please do this again with better audio?
rsl84416 3 years ago

where is the face melting gain?
Activethrasher00 3 years ago
Up your ass. These amps arent made for face melting gain. They made for soulful blues, and classic rock'n'roll.

metal, up your ass.
i guess i'm just not impressed and don't understand why people sell their kids for these. subjective- to each his own.
Activethrasher00 3 years ago
dude seriously why would you ask where the face melting gain is? Its a DUMBLE!!!
guns1rose 2 years ago
They don't. This is a clone.
If you want to form your own opinion about Dumble amps, go play one (if you can find one).
But yeah. That's like saying "what's so great about the twin? It can't do teh brootalz liek mah 5150!!1"
