@create947 Maybe a couple are not placed very well. But its not fair to say they all suck considering the amount of talented US goalkeepers playing in Europe
I agree with you. It seems football/soccer is one of the most territorial sports out there, so it fosters a lot of hate between clubs, let alone countries.
It's completely stupid to me.
MLS is improving all the time, and I say the more the merrier.
i don't understand all the hate for american soccer. honestly, the quality of play in the mls (although still not near that of europe's top leagues) is quite decent, and is constantly improving. and for europeans who get all possessive over football (or soccer): grow up, it's a global game.
It seems that there is more of a focus on individual flare in the American game than the English, but the English game has a lot more focus on team coherence.
I've heard that MLS is terrible, well this is my first time seeing it in action and I gotta say there's some good football going on there, some trippy stadiums though.
@tommytomat0 Trust me alot of people hate on the mls for no reason. It's getting better and better and getting more mainstream. It's still ways off of Europe's level, but it's growing fantastically here and I love it. Also about the stadiums, it's 2008... there has been alot of progress since then, so go onto wikipedia and search for the new stadiums and planned ones :)
Lots of badass goals in this video, and most comments (including the top 2) are from people fighting and whining about which sport is the best, seriously?
Hey mate, hows it going? you like football manager games right? i found this cool one online footy-manager com its very similar to the football manager game. check it out. its pretty cool actually.

@lurpinator very true,in your country ur referred to as americans, but in most other parts of the world ur referred to as arrogant war mongers and fat yanks.so i do agree with your comment
@bluedragon636 ...especially if you're English--where do you think the word "soccer" comes from? Around 1880, there were several versions of related sports--rugby football, association ("soccer") football, etc. So it makes sense to call it soccer in a country where we have American / NFL football, which is not going to go away, to differentiate it. So go rag on some Italians for calling it "calcio."
It's very fortunate that the MLS has gained the support of the hispanic community. Because before it becomes mainstream, like other sports here, the hispanics make up a huge percent of the MLS fanbase. Television stations like Telefutura (A Mexican owned station) broadcast MLS games on a weekly basis. Hopefully our league continues to grow and gain support from everyone.
is time that the mls stay in the libertadores de america the most great and big even in america whit this league is beetter the soccer 2012 mls in libertadores would be awesome
I think football ( soccer ) wil be the four sport in US behind A football, Baseball and Basketball, but will neber be before, these is a culture of countries, im european, i love basketball, but basketball never will be before soccer in Europe, every country loves their sports
Why is it people insult the goals when they are scored by MLS players but I've seen Messi score the same goals, and everyone calls him a genius or a prodigy for scoring like that.
@Btony09 people don't seem to understand the implications of Man. United beating the MLS all stars 5-1. MLS SUCKS BALLS. .... euroleague basketball is to the nba what mls is to international soccer. there's no market for soccer in the US. it's a money thing. deal with it.
I think that MLS will have a great future. But if they want to achieve that they need to push more money in it. And offer more college scolarship in soccer.

MLS is vital to US soccer. European leagues obviously better since they bring the best together. Look at what Brazilian and Argentinian leagues do. Quit comparing MLS to EPL or European leagues! You guys honestly expect a league that is 14 years old to dominate over a league like EPL that has been around for decades? That's ridiculous. You need to give the MLS time to develop its players, make more money, build soccer specific stadiums, increase its fanbase, and be around long enough to build rivalries before we can start comparing it to European leagues. It's still relatively new here. If you live in the US, don't bash it, support it!

let me think ... hahaha my God! GREASE... LOL ... there are still people who talk about the grease ... ahaha poor idiot .. we are in 2010., we have the Ferrari and Armani you sell rotten meat with mcdonald.....o yes already exported ... also your democracy by invaders!! Dear American just u cant talk ... I'm sorry you are one of the worst people in the world. Polluted, fat killers etc.etc.
I'm sorry but I pity you, and now shut up you pls.
yes i realise that, but how can the goalkeeper see his line? Till where he can take the ball with his hands? If there is a foul, how can the referee see if it's a penalty, or a free kick? THERE'S NO PENALTY BOX
Maybe the quality of that video is to bad to see the lines ;D no idea ,U know the americans can see ghost lines :b ,anyway good goals there ;D better than the goals in europe
Haha. We have great goalies like Kasey Keller and Donovan Ricketts in this league, as well as many other great keepers.. so I don't really understand your statement, to be honest ;)
until you english crumpet eaters win another world cup, indeed, make it past the quarter finals even, you can't talk. the epl is stacked with internationals. they're there to make money. epl does not equal english football.
I couldnt agree more. the english, spanish and italian leagues attracts the best players but they come from all over... africa, asia, north and south america, australia, and of course inside europe.
There is no doubt that europe and south america has "more" good players and maybe until a player like Figo, Zidane, Messi emerges from Asia, Africa, Australia or the US, the criticism will be true that players outside the usual source countries are not up to the task..
Europe & South America have produced the longest list of great players (Zidane, Messi, Pele, Maradona, Hagi,Beckenbauer) Now Africans are gradually stepping up and adding to the list (Drogba, Essian, George Weah) Asia, USA, Australia have some good but no great players. I am from Australia but that still doesnt mean Kewell makes that sort of list.
PS. Dont want to sound like I am stalking you MrRelaxed Guy but I saw your comment on the young Australian Lukas Pedder and I followed your trail of comments and found what you said here. I just happen to agree.
MLS has been around for only 13 years. Man U was founded is 1878. Chelsea in 1905, Arsenal in 1886, and Liverpool in 1892...just to name a few. If MLS teams had that many years of seasoning you can bet we'd be up with the best teams in the world.
what does the MLS being "new" have to do with them not being able to compete with other/better clubs. gee.... i didn't know soccer skills were genetic
It's that simple! If you don't believe me, look at why Every single MLB team has moved to a baseball-specific park with a pretty view. The model just works. It's gets people excited about there teams when they have a true 'home' field.
15 years ago, who would have thought Russian tennis players would dominate the sport. The traditional nations dont get weaker. The outsider nations get stronger.
Individual players from Korea, Japan, USA, NZ and Australia are starting to appear. It'll be the ones we havent heard of yet that do it.
i love SOCCER

1:06 an american footballfield? What is up with that? Where's the 18yard penalty box?
ZimmermanTelegram 2 years ago
the don't need this in america ;)
they use the footballfields too play soccer on it because the teams have enough money for own stadium I think
MuFFinBeKa 2 years ago
yes i realise that, but how can the goalkeeper see his line? Till where he can take the ball with his hands? If there is a foul, how can the referee see if it's a penalty, or a free kick? THERE'S NO PENALTY BOX
ZimmermanTelegram 2 years ago
Maybe the quality of that video is to bad to see the lines ;D no idea ,U know the americans can see ghost lines :b ,anyway good goals there ;D better than the goals in europe

Haha. We have great goalies like Kasey Keller and Donovan Ricketts in this league, as well as many other great keepers.. so I don't really understand your statement, to be honest ;)

until you english crumpet eaters win another world cup, indeed, make it past the quarter finals even, you can't talk. the epl is stacked with internationals. they're there to make money. epl does not equal english football.
legatinois87 2 years ago
I couldnt agree more. the english, spanish and italian leagues attracts the best players but they come from all over... africa, asia, north and south america, australia, and of course inside europe.
There is no doubt that europe and south america has "more" good players and maybe until a player like Figo, Zidane, Messi emerges from Asia, Africa, Australia or the US, the criticism will be true that players outside the usual source countries are not up to the task..
MrRelaxedguy2 2 years ago
Europe & South America have produced the longest list of great players (Zidane, Messi, Pele, Maradona, Hagi,Beckenbauer) Now Africans are gradually stepping up and adding to the list (Drogba, Essian, George Weah) Asia, USA, Australia have some good but no great players. I am from Australia but that still doesnt mean Kewell makes that sort of list.

PS. Dont want to sound like I am stalking you MrRelaxed Guy but I saw your comment on the young Australian Lukas Pedder and I followed your trail of comments and found what you said here. I just happen to agree.
viewofthesea 2 years ago
My own private stalker? Its OK. Yes the young Aussie has got something. I'm sorry to sat but most of the criticism seems from jealous local players.
MrRelaxedguy2 2 years ago
when are yous going to realise its football not soccer, and why do your teams have gay names . thats what you need to change first
ferrit22 2 years ago
stop being homo-phobic, it doesn't matter what it's called and when are you going to realise england's world cup win was a fluke?
fbfuzzybearfb 2 years ago 3
well considering im not english I have to agree with you there
ferrit22 2 years ago
MLS has been around for only 13 years. Man U was founded is 1878. Chelsea in 1905, Arsenal in 1886, and Liverpool in 1892...just to name a few. If MLS teams had that many years of seasoning you can bet we'd be up with the best teams in the world.
gibsonguy329 2 years ago
dont forget tottenham ;D
PdishmonkeyJJ 2 years ago
what does the MLS being "new" have to do with them not being able to compete with other/better clubs. gee.... i didn't know soccer skills were genetic
bodomhatecrew97 2 years ago
It's about the experience. Not genetics. USA is relatively new to the sport.

1) MLS needs more soccer specific stadiums
2) SSS promote a fan base and excitement
3) Fan base/Excitement = Money
4) Money = Better League
It's that simple! If you don't believe me, look at why Every single MLB team has moved to a baseball-specific park with a pretty view. The model just works. It's gets people excited about there teams when they have a true 'home' field.
Acrimony01 2 years ago 4
toyota park in chicago is really nice.
it is soccer specific.
but sometimes the USA national rugby team uses it for international test matches
