They sould do more of these. I think one for the DS would be great! It should have New Super Mario Bros, where you have to get as many points as you can in the world 8 castle in 5 minutes, Tetris DS, where you try to get as many lines cleared in 5 minutes, and Mario Kart DS, where you try to get in 1st place in Rainbow Road on 150 CC Mirror. And the winner should win a free Wii, a free 3DS, and a free copy of Kid Icuris: Uprising.

I suspect Rob Walters wasn't as honest about the true value of the games he coaxed the seller into buying as he makes out. The Campus Challenge cartridges weren't bought at the garage sale at all but manipulated out of the owner for $1000 from his own house, after Rob convinced him to allow him to show his 'not for sale' collection at home under the deceptive claim that he 'needed to buy a Super Nintendo'. The owner apparently wasn't keen to be known to have the cartridges in his possession

It would be challenging to start up these types of contests again, but it can defiantly be done and should be done since admitably nintendo is starting to fall under the weight of the 360 and ps3 now and anything to put the best game industry back on top I support =)

They actually are doing something like this on this. a few months ago they announced it on their website, and it included mario kart wii, basketball on wii sports resort, and something else. they were supposed to go around to a bunch of cities, but i think it already happened. First of all, I think that they should do these tournaments every few years, but you have to pay to enter. My First challenge would be to get 25 coins in New Super Mario Bros. Wi. Then you proceed to Mario Kart Wii where you have to finish a special and very difficult course. The Last challenge is to kill as many alloys in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as possible untill the timer runs out.

I don't necessarily think its in Nintendo best interest to do these contests especially with the existence of twin galaxies. Competitive gaming is a lot more prevalent now compared to what it was 20 years ago.

If they set up contests like these, I think people would expect to get limited editions of the tournament cartridges as prizes, but to me the ultimate prize would be being the best or having the highest score, not necessarily getting a high score or prize within a short amount of time.

Absolutely they should do this again! They did a casual version of this sort of tournament last summer with different categories for family contestants, youth, adult and senior. That hardly proves the best of the best though, and I'd like to see it focus on the ages 18-30 college/university crowd.

It's this special edition ROM made for the winners of this level-making competition (that resulted in the Crystal Rush stage in Gradius III Arcade, among others). I'd love to see an old-school tournament like this on the n64, with the games 007 Goldeneye, THPS2, and Super Mario 64. The challenge on Goldeneye would be how many headshots you could get in a set amount of time, the challenge on THPS2 would be ultimate trick combo, and SM64 would be how many coins in a set time... IDK, sounds cool to me. I'd whup up on that.
