One nitpick with the guy at 1:40. I don't think the entire world depends on the United States. Rather I think it's the opposite. The US has been a drain on the entire world. Consuming resources and living on the national credit card far beyond its means, and sticking the rest of the world with the bill.
I have been waiting nervously for this to happen. My family was one of the ones that obtained one of those sub prime mortgage loans and I am always worried about them losing the house.
I lay most of the blame on the media and the society it has created. Consumerism has such a strong hold on us that we feel we are entitled to things we can't afford because they are attached to the "American Dream" (dream being the significant word here).
i think if we keep our friends and our books and our paintbrushes and our burning passions and our glockenspiels and our childlike wonder and our impulse to run through fields and to build sandcastles very close to our hearts! we might just be ok when the shit hits the fan

Regardless, great video.

Maybe this crash is how we will learn our lesson.

The downturn has been a much needed wake up for a lot of people.
Unfortunately, for those who it hasn't hit, a crash might be needed to curb some of the more vulgar excesses of consumerism.

If we don't find a different form of transportation energy soon, we'll definately enter another depression, possibly even an internal war.
