doesnt this song just take you back to a happy moment in your life? It reminds me of my time with this game, and how it has influenced me and my life. Call me a geek or a nerd, but this game is one of the loves in my life
@hunter81095 I understand you, that's the same that happened to me. It is a deep-mature game that can influence you in a lot of ways. In fact, it made me recover the hope for Role-playing games. The story-line, the dialogues and choices you can make, all the characters, specially the companions (nearly human beings), and this epic OST thanks to the genius Inon Zur and Aubrey Ashburn's voice. It is a masterpiece in every aspect. After adding some mods (PC), it became my favorite game.
how many more times am i going to go on this music soundtrack for dao and find find dislikes what the hell if you dont like it get of it you dont have to comment and how the hell can you dislike this music
Dragon Age was a great game, although I found the AI to be quite hard to make them do what we want them to do because of the lack of accuracy in the codition of tactics menu. It made the battle system a pain in the ass to control until i modded it with a custom tactics menu online. Then, it got pretty nice. But what REALLY made Dragon Age so epic for me, was the INCREDIBLE storyline and decent replay value.
i listened to this song for half an hour then my brother turned the xbox offand sold the game...never even got to play the game. Damn it the songs just too good :D
@NorthernerMatty123 Bethesda knows their shit when it comes to exploration and sandbox. But after seeing the atrocious dialogue(you know, role-playing isn't necessarily only about grinding and dungeon crawling), story and bland comic book characters I am pretty sure that Bio rules supreme. Hell, even Obsidian's New Vegas is actually superior to F3 as a 'Fallout' game.
Anyway, not trying to troll you, just saying that Beth(in my opinion) lost its fire after Morrowind, which was FANTASTIC. :(
Hmm...to say new vegas is superior is arguable. New Vegas's world is disapointingly small (only 1 major town), the quests for different faction are almost the same, meaning little replay value and the game is highly unstable. Storyline-wise, I admit that it is superior to FO3, which is not something to underestimate. So...If they could fix the unstability in the game, I would say new vegas is SLIGHTLY superior to FO3
@Warrior536 There's more where that came from. Also the characters and the whole world consistency(200 years after the war and people still refuse to farm, agriculture is crap etc unlike in F1 and NV). You know, it's arguable yes but Fallout was never really about endless sandboxing.
And please, factions are same? I gotta disagree with ya there. Yes they lead to the same battle, but it's still MUCH more than the same railroaded 'epic transformers' ending part of F3. Forced to join the BOS I mean
@Ollovka if you have problems try to go to another location first, for example the cities of elves and dwarves must be visited after the wizards's tower and the forest ;)
in war, victory. In peace, vigilance. In death,sacrifice....Such a good game makes you wish to spent hours in it seeking answers, revenge and the Arch Demon.Best rpg i ever played...Nothing can be better at the story and at the gameplay than this..
Is there a certain track that contains the music from the return to ostagar dlc when you first discover cailan's body....something about the way they played that piece that really struck me?
This game is amazing. I loved it so much. The storyline was amazing. I want to see how many people agree. Thumbs up if you love Dragon Age: Origins!!!
I love this song with the mix of vocals and the orchestra. The drums give it the needed essence of a impending threat for this opening theme. i applaud Bioware for putting this in. :)
Bioware's games ALWAYS have AMAZING soundtracks.I mean, how many other games can you point out that made you think "Oh God, this is going to be awesome." after only having heard the main theme/menu theme songs?
Examples include Mass Effect, Dragon Age, hell, even KOTOR.
Ya I agree with what brandon519 said, it reminds me too of the tragedy that befell Ostagar. Damn why did Duncan have to die...atleast he died like a true warden, he died with honor.
How funny, everyone so boldly expressing their opinions on the dramatic inspirations of this video game music. I supppose it's not half bad though....
The Style of Music seems to be Old Irish, and the dialect of the vocal too(Gaelic or Irish most)
When i first hear the voice solo, i see Morrigan near the fire, when the orchestra starts i see battlefield, Morrigan goes to battle along with the Grey Warden, and at the end, the battle is over, lots of people killed by The Blgiht, but the Archdemon killed, Alistair king, and The Blight gone forever.
I'd also like to ask you guys...out of curiosity what story does this song tell u when you listen to it earnestly...or what images come to mind? To me I get the idea of mother comforting her child in the face of death...
I feel that its a warrior, standing among comrades, thinking of a better time before making a charge, not knowing if it will be the last act of his life.
I see a warrior, defeated and dying, bleeding out with deep wounds and a broken body, standing up for the last time to give everything to protect those precious to him. He fights with every bit of will left in him, and then kills the enemy and passes on.
Mine is of the warden (the player) injured and kneeling on the floor about to get slaughterd, and then just as 0:36 plays, Morrigan comes into the scene and protects him by casting powerful, epic looking spells (First thing that comes to mind is a giant hurricane) against the enemy (darkspawn maybe)
wow you are trying to call someone a retard because they dont conform to your belief that only multiplayer PC games should be played, its like "hi pot, this is kettle, your black!, because your statement just shows how retarded you are for having a verry narrow mind when it comes to video games, maby you should stick to fifa and halo ...putz
does anyone know if there are actual lyrics to this song? if so where they can be found? I am completely obsessed with it. I sit there and listen to it instead of playing the game lol. I know it may be in "elven" but i need to know the words damnit! lol
It's sung in an Elvish language, which if you think about Middle-Earth, their language is somewhat based on Latin also. But yeah, it's Elvish, not Latin.
Love this music! I've been addicted to this game since I rented it. I was considering buying Left 4 Dead 2 on the 17th, but I think I'll buy Dragon Age: Origins instead. XD

I can't make out any words, but it doesn't sound Latin. (I should know, I've been taking it for three years!) Latin would have more
"-us", "-ibus", "-am", etc endings. I'm pretty sure that Bioware made up a language, or possible made up some noises that sound good together.
