Piklethedoodad - mine daemon, Jaxor isn't setlled but his favourite form is Pine Marten. Before that I don't like Pine Martens but now i love them :).
Strict carnivores not omnivores. The only plant material they eat is in prey's (rodent/bird) gut. They have no lower colon and can't properly digest plant material.
One vet on the internet claims he has had to remove dry bits of carrot (from pet food) that got stuck in the gut. Mine gets carrot juice occasionally, which has more sugar than they should get but they do need the vitamins. It's the fiber & the sugar that're the problem. Juices have sugar unfortunately. Meat has zero sugars.
Sorry - I didn't mean to imply that they're omnivores. I only pointed out that mine likes fruit and vegetables. I know that they're carnivores and my ferret's diet is 50/50 dry food (Ferret Complete!) to meat. He gets an egg on Sundays and occasionaly a bit of fruit/veg as a treat. Hope that clears it up and look out for video soon!
You're dead right about not giving them silly stuff like donuts, but once in a while won't do them any harm. As for ferrets - my pet ferret loves vegetables and his favourite is a green pepper, so they're not 100% carnivores. That said, his favourite is raw liver with an egg yolk on top...
yes actually ferrets are 100% carnivores. giving them things like peppers and carrots and all other vegetables can cause blockages because they cannot digest that type of food.
Anothe thing- no fruit, a recent study shows that rasins are toxic to ferrets.
They aren't pets, they're wild. They are supposedly reclusive, but it they find food source, such as people who like to give them doughnuts- they become less so!
Pantalaimon settles in his final form as a pine marten. I'm jealous of Lyra.

Settled/stable American Marten. Eh, close enough. Badass but got head up in the clouds xD And the only time I'm seen is when I want food.

Actually they're omnivores. I did a project on them for my Biology class and my studies lead me to prove they eat plants, human food, and rodents.

I'm pretty sure Pine Martens aren't supposed to eat doughnuts. They normally eat insects, mice and occasionally fruit.

Nice clip. I like seeing this. Are they your pets or what? (I did't know I could see so much wildlife on YouTube.)
