Man i just learned cycling, first attempt.. The bike had flat tire and loose governance and i just start cycle.. no help or anything.. I just did it.. i was 3 years old, i didn't have any fking training wheels cus that¨'s just stupid. Learn to just cycle like i did.. first attempt and bam, and i am much better then all of my friends in cycling and everything. I'm the best.

@geets544 go to the local post shop, or book store, and pick up an issue of "australian mountain bike", if you have a look in that, the adds will all be for aussie bike shops, and places to demo a bike, if you live round Sydney, google "mt stromlo mountain biking", if you need , I can give you more info

start with a GIANT STP 2 bike. they are good and depends on where you live you could also ask your bike dealer for maps of trails or locations. its what i did.

Maybe the reason why the focus is on DH instead of XC single track is because visually single track is bloody boring. Who wants to watch someone slowly pedaling uphill. This is a visual media we are talking abour. The riders that find single track adrenaline pumping are usually pretty damn boring to listen to as well.

well let me tell you. I have a singlespeed and I ride 50mile singletrack races with it. So there is not only singlespeed in bmx. Just for you to know...

And yeah I know downhill is awesome to watch. I do it by myself from time to time...and it IS fun

singlespeed racing will not become popular because even the good athletes look slow. But yeah, it might be great fun for you and your buddies to ride. It's just not as viable an extreme sport as downhill is. Keep extreme sport extreme!
