  • Fascinating to see veteran TV personality Dave Garroway (the original host of the Today Show on NBC) doing a TV commercial. NBC News would never let Matt Lauer or Meredith Viera do it today...

    However, Garroway's endorsement was a sincere one. He was a sports car afficionado, and purchased one of the first 300 Corvettes Chevy made in its brief 1953 production run. That's why GM approached him to do the spot.
