The Japanese version is better quality overall and is leveled much better, meaning you can ear each instrument more clearly. The English version has much louder bass, you can hardly hear the two guitars. Since its the bass that drives this song, I think the English one is better (but I wish the guitars were just tad louder).

I think both versions have their merits, the japanese version has a bit more feeling in it but I like being able to understand the english version, i like both versions but if you say that english speaking/singing was good in the japanese version then you clearly have just recently had a stroke

I like Koyuki's english voice a ton better, but yeah, Chiba's english voice is kind of ugly. His talking voice is better fitted, but his singing sucks. The Jap talking voice is too laid back, but the Jap Chiba's singing is tons better, honestly.

there's also the point that a lot more work went into the various songs in the dub. for example, from live to live you can hear certain differences in Chiba's vocals and, if you listen hard enough, in the other parts as well. CLEARLY a lot of work went into making it, so complaining that the voice actor is too old, is just stupid. would you really want an inexperienced person trying to sing AND act? most people can't even do one of those correctly.
