great drills. Anyone who knows basketball knows that you have to look at the basketball to ensure control during a drill with a high level of difficulty.
Initially the purpose of 2 ball dribbling drills is do force both hands to work independently. Looking down is accepted in the beginning stages to train the nervous system.....but it should not continue as the athletes improves. This will create a bad habit of looking down while you dribble. The super high bounce drill is used to force the athlete to control the ball....when the range of motion is out of control.
it's evident you aren't a coach/teacher if you think you have to look up all the time. it comes through progression. learning starts with looking down to reduce the stress during trainings.
Dude's gotta look up. This is good but when you learn to do these drills without even looking at the balls, that's when you really got your shit together.
fellas ppl say i have one of the fastest handles in da world and i appreciate when ppl tell me that,so check out some of my streetball videos and comment and tel me what you think of it
everyone takes for granted how easy it is dribbling just one ball. trying to coordinate two balls at the same time is extremely difficult so you have to start by watching the balls before you can just look up. its a progression
Not to be RUDE or anything but the dude was looking DOWN in all those drills u should always look UP when you practice dribbling...thats like the most BASIC part of learning how to dribble a basketball
yeah developing proprioception is important, and while looking while dribbling will still increase proprioception, dribbling with out looking with skill an athlete a lot faster.
@anmali Thats exactly what I was thinking. Each person was looking down. eyes need to be up. I tell my players in any dribble drill that they must have their eyes fixed on the rim they are going towards... sometimes i have them read numbers off of flash cards that I show as they do the drill.
how is he going to see the chairs if he's looking up.... This is the best dribbling drill to date.... i'm a trainer i know pros who do the drill the exact way... Pay attention to the drill and the speed at which he did it at...Its a mental drill
@KGPF21 the last drill seemed good to me. PG need to be able to back up when they dribble the weave just helps with forward movement and retreat dribbles. It was a little slow for my taste I think the dribbling and speed could have been better. But thats why they are doing the drills lol
@KGPF21 The last drill is great for controlling the basketball. Looks retarded but there is certainly merit and of course he needs to look down, how can he see the chairs if he looks up
The one wear he tosses the small ball at you while you are dribbling is great for keeping you head up and seeing what is going on around you.
