this probably makes radiohead cringe with embarresment these days, I can't believe they would make such a bad song, I liked pablo honey but this is awful.
The kind of song that makes you realize how completely Radiohead has evolved over the years: this song is literally a joke. It's somewhat ironic: the sound is criticizing pop, but I'd rather listen to a few Britney Spears songs before seeing this one live. I remember the first time I watched the Astoria 1994 concert, loving every bit, and then this song crops up right before the amazing "Blow Out". It was jarring, to say the least...
@Scott17quebec Oh don't diminish it: this was released as a full fledged single, so they didn't try to bury it particularly. I guess we can call this Radiohead's "Shiny Happy People" (although I actually like that particular oddity quite a bit more).
it's in then special version of pablo honey, comes with two cds and one dvd it aint' that hard to get in my local cd store they got like 2 of them....
I'm a Radiohead's fan, and I didn't know about this video untill today. It's a great song, and the video is one of the weirdest that I have ever seen... Thom looks just awfull... (maybe even worse than a real dead person...)
I find it funny that people can Diminish the art work of other, especially when #1: they don't create any artistic accomplishment. #2: They don't actually own or experienced the artwork being criticized #3: their behavior is exactly the one being pointed out in the art work itself.
truely a horrible song that made it's effects, as for Radiohead, my golden box containing their 7 albums and 2 Live Recordings says it all :)
I wouldnt say it's a "bad" music, as mrcrapstick99, but surely it's very different than radiohead other songs. it wasnt even published in their albums
Watching this video over and over again and spotting the COUNTLESS 'Facepalm'-esque things in this vid, I'm starting to wonder if Radiohead just made this song/video for the lulz - it's too 'OMGWTF?!' to be considered 'serious', right?
even the guitar riff is hilarious.. and the sudden unexpected piano at 0:58 and the unnecessary shot cuts/zooming in, and the dramatic closeups, the bizarre dancing blue man, Thom's facial expressions and crazy gestures, omg, I am crying here. they must look back at this and have laughing fits every now and then (I hope)
There are some good songs on pablo honey like thinking about you (a very good song), and you (the acoustic version). And I suppose crep. But yes even i can't believe they actually released this song (and as a video!)
theres some desent stuff on PH, like Anyone can play guitar... or thinking about you. or you or how do you? I agree it is my least favourite of their albums but not a total write off.
it is better than the tripe nowadays, in a couple of years time you'll hear song similar to bodysnatchers and house of cards, cos they're that ahead of time :P
I can see why Thom disowned this song haha but in all seriously it's better then a lot of crap on the radio today. Hell! Radiohead can't go wrong, even at their worst.
itunes just got the just ep and fake plastic trees disc 1 ep but not this they have the pop is dead vid but not the song now that is just wrong they need to hurry they r so slow on things
