  • This cover makes the original look bad.

  • What a voice! Northern soul wins yet again.

  • @burns46824 He's a londoner mate, like me!!! lol

  • You know what I mean, though. He's singing in that style.

  • @burns46824 yeah lol

  • great voice.... sad song

  • number 1 when i was born

  • story of a player

  • Saw a tv show of the 80's recently on uk tv. every other artist from the 83 charts were singing live except paul. shame.. i heard his voice now is very bad. miss the 80's at the best of times myself, even worse when my idols come back and can only mime.

  • Ive seen him live recently on tour with Tony Hadley (of all people!!) and apart from a few more wrinkles he still sounded great- dont listen to all you hear unless its from your own ears lol

  • Thanks simmynz for the info, very pleased he's back singing live, I've seen Hadley a few times now and peter cox their great singers aswell. Cheers

  • wot's up wi Tony Hadley?

He has a gr8 strong voice!

  • Avec Pino palladino à la basse !!

  • This version is far superior to the Marvin Gaye original. Nice one Paul.

  • This one's going out to Harriet :)x

  • This Paul Young character seems like kind of a fag, but the bass in this song is sweet.

    Pino Palladino makes anything cool

  • I remember at the time this was a hit, some bigwig wrote to Marvin Gaye (no e-mail those days) with a copy of this and the note saying, ' this is how the song was meant to be sung' sadly, Paul never repeated the sucess, got upset over his girl also the girl of a bike hero, lost her, got her back - whatever- if the guy had bigger balls, he would have ignored that and concentrated on backing up this song

  • Of course he got over it...He had several hits later...Muppet!!

  • whoever posted ds, God bless u real good

  • Great song!! Since I first listened to this song on cassette about twelve years ago, I've been trying to get the video.

Whao! I finally found it!! Thanks to the person who posted it here!

  • very cool!

  • great song its one of the regular jukebox favourites in the local pub

  • Anyone watch Dr Who. I didn't realize it until now, but he kinda reminds me of one of Peter Davison's companions, Janet Fielding, who played Tegan! :D

  • Yeah they definitely had a similar haircut.

  • Pino Palladino with hair? Wow!

  • I first heard this song on an original Sonny Boy Willamson record I had years ago , it was one of my favourites then on the record though the record was really good anyway and Sonny Boy is still my icon Bluesman. All the same I´m happy to hear Paul´s version or Marvin´s o whoever sings it well. I like the song a lot.

  • PURE CLASS PAUL'S THE MAN

  • THE BOLLOCKS

  • This is the first time I saw this lovely man and fell in love with him.. Oh and the hair is lovely , he is still grate today, thankyou for this...

  • OMG... I loved this song and still do. No discussion about that, but who the hell was his haidresser at that time? A great voice combined with a really hair-disaster ;-)

    The 80's were really crazy

  • they might have been crazy but nothing beats them

  • i want this one played for me at valentines day...cool

  • he was plastered all over my walls. i would then and i would now. has he really dropped Stacey??

  • Yeah he and Stacey split up but Paul says that they still live together and still love each other. My parents are in almost exactly the same situation. I love this song and I love Paul Young!!

  • i saw him on the hear and now tour a couple of years ago and he was plasterd all over the stage pissed as a fart coulnt stand let alone sing such a shame as ive seen him live loads of times

  • Reminds me of my first love, i was only 14...

I guess it was lust then...Great song, Great memories.

  • Both versions of this song have something to offer but even though for me, Marvin Gaye was a legend, Paul's version has more soul.

  • Oi!! SOMEONEZMOM, you dont have to apologise to "us brits" coz were used to "you yanks" being stupid, rude and ignorant anyway, so stick you apology where the sun dont shine, *anker

  • Dude he's Canadian and likes Michael Jackson, so I wouldn't worry lol

  • Who write such excellent music and lyrics anymore?

  • This song was originally performed by Margin Gaye.

  • if it wasn't for hell's kitchen UK ..I would have never known of this song...so sorry..get over it brits

  • you cant beat the classic songs..

  • I think I was 13 years old when this song came out. I still love it! Thank you so much for posting it. Is Paul still singing? I know that he had a lot of trouble with his voice, but that was years ago.

  • Los Pacominos is the band he is in now as far as i know...ive loved Paul since 82" and i hope he still keeps going...especially now he has dropped the noose"" (stacey!!) xxx

  • yeap he is cool

  • Man, I love this song

Reminds me of the old Days, gay old time

  • s-jay thinkin ´bout you °°°°°° kisses
