Pearl Jam were so much more talented than Nirvana and thats just the facts. Comparing Vedder & Cobain is like comparing Jordan to Pippen. Pippen & Cobain were good but Vedder & Jordan are on a level that Cobain wanted so bad to get to. I was in my youth in the Nirvana camp, but as I matured I could appreciate Pearl Jam as being better musicians. Nirvana had a style that changed rock based on the Pixies my favorite band, but Nirvana didn't write a song called black. Pearl Jam if I had to pick. I was more of a Weezer fan anyways.

No contest, baby! Pearl Jam by miles! (Heck, the FF are better than Nirvana.) I had the opposite opinion when both Nirvana and PJ first came out. I actually didn't like the first album by PJ initially. I started giving them a serious listen when they put out songs like Go, Animal, WMA, Last Exit, Tremor Christ, Corduroy, Immortality, Yellow Ledbetter, Hail Hail, No Way, Wishlist, and Do the Evolution. Their body of work is pretty incredible. Seen them live? Usually amazing! PJ!

Pearl Jam made one decent album. They're irrelevant except in regard to influencing annoying Nickelback-sound-alikes. Kurt Cobain was influenced by many great artists such as Wipers, Pixies and The Vaselines; he took said influences (more from the Pixies/The Vaselines) and made the music more digestible which is why Nirvana is pretty well known. They're more influential and still relevant even to this day in comparison to PJ as well. Now, if only Cobain was still alive. D:
