  • this is real sh**. This has how much? 560 horsepowers in stock version, and they give it 1000, okay if you have many gas stations, and servise stations around you. Everything is okay. Otherwise this is real sh**, because in list of modified part i don´t see anything about brakes or suspension, or diferencial, gearbox, clutch. So that can be a serious problem

  • oh so you have researched what brakes and springs this has, and have concluded that some awd rice can automatically win? have you even Seen a race between the gtr and and any real race car? 480 horsepower at the crank for the gtr versus 1000 at the wheels in the gt. you are retarded.

  • Actually this so called "rice" spec-v is making better laps than any 430scuderia or porsche gt2 or any stock gt. And if this gt has not any gear mods it will drive as fast as the stock one the only thing that will change is way more tire spinning and faster acceleration to top speed. First of all this power must be used and not me not you or everybody here could handle the 1000hp on a decent track. 1000hp on that thing doesn't mean it's faster than anything on a "track" maybe on boring straights

  • Ok, for Daniel, yes there is cheaper ways to make HP but thats not the entire idea. Owners want to own a piece of american history, a new edition of the gt-40 which dominated racing(ferrari in Le Mans). If all they wanted was HP you could just buy an older mustang, stroke it and throw some turbos on it(or even a huge N2O shot to be real cheap) and go racing. As for ur 300zx tt, not a bad car but not american muscle, and ur engine compartment is soo tiny. Very hard to work on!

  • Actually my 300zxtt runs 9 in the 1/4 and i only run at 630RWHP. and i only put in my car 35,000 into the motor which is far less then this ford gt and I get probably better fun then he would. I'm just saying. There are much cheaper ways to get acceleration fun out of a car.

  • lol this GT does over 225 in the standing mile. Your 300 would fall apart way before it even thought of that speed. You get what you pay for.

  • LOL right! The 5.4 w/ boost makes the same HP/TRQ as a N/A pushrod 7.0. What do you think would happen if you added a TT setup to a 427? Im not dissin the GT, its just not a well built machine for that much cash. It cant even outhandle a Carerra GT lol. On track day these GT's get laughed at in the twisties. Ive seen leaf spring vettes outhandle them, and outpower them with less engine.

  • look i love the Z06(its the best bang for the buck going) but gts outhandle Z06s. there are several examples of gts laying down 1000+rwhp with no mods what so ever but turbos(even the stock fuel system). youre not gonna do that with a stock Z06.

  • This new GT doesnt even handle as well as the GT40 did 40 years before. The suspension is too stiff up front to drive easily and they understeer like crazy. Just because the magazine says they handle incredible doesnt mean they really do. On track day they dont win, even with more power. They are a rip off any way you look at it.

  • i guess youve drove both? or did your leprechaun tell you? i think ill rely on the mags that have actually tested them over you. i also compete at scca events and have seen gts on track-both had rich yuppie drivers who were afraid to push their cars and were subsequintly being lapped by $10k camaros and mustangs. does that mean $10k camaros and mustangs handle better?

Chevy hp is a joke they always have to come to the table with at least 2 more liters displacement that is crap dont compare. Oh and two valve heads give me a break I wouldnt waste my money on something so behind the times, my grandma was driving two valve head motors.

  • Tell the gentlemen in NASCAR with pushrod 358's that 900chp is crap, and thats all dmoestics. If GM DID have DOHC V8's it would be bad for Ford! Ford is a joke in the V8 world. I build Fords and their heads and intake setups are laughably unefficient compared to the pushrod GM's top end, which is sad. Compare the Ford GT to any sports car that costs $150k+ and it will get laughed off the track by quality and performance. Thats all Im saying.

  • Well I guess thats true in todays world. Ferrari and Lambo are both an insult to Italy. People dont buy those cars for performance, they buy them to get laid heh. I assume you were basing these handling stats on the ring times? That would be a good comparison providing the driver was the same. Just to prove my point, look at displacement to compare the hp/trq. The GT has a 5.4 with lots of boost versus similar displacement w/out boost. All american V8s are unefficient, but honestly who cares?

  • why not go a step further and spout hp/ltr like every other ricerfag. when your at the stoplight or pulling a long straightaway at a roadcourse how much does hp/ltr matter-none,not one, bit all that matters is did you bring enough power period. ive never been to an scca event when driver A with his 500hp 5liter(100hp/ltr) gives up the lead to driver B in his 300hp 2 liter. the result will be even more dramatic at a drag strip. will all you morons please stop quoting hp/ltr its fucking ignorant.

The whole purpose of this car was for WOW factor because he had too much money. For 1/10th the money you could make a hundred cars handle better and be far faster on a track. I bash any vehicle that costs too much and doesnt offer superior technology. Its a bad investment for an enthusiast to buy this car and THAT is the point. Stop arguing already.

  • Actually if you read my first post it was about the handling specifically compared to the 60's GT40, which had a heavy 427 dual carb that made just as much power as the new 5.4 with the blower. My point exactly, they havent progressed past the pushrod 427 in 40 years.

  • the original was a race car that could be street driven the new gt is a street car that can be raced-although the cars look similar they dont have much in common. the originals 427 made alot more power than the new cars 5.4 not "as much as". the 427 however was NOT a street friendly engine and i doubt it would even run on todays shitty pump gas. i know it wouldnt idle in traffic and heat. your comments about the gt getting laughed at by anything in its price range was stupid.

  • personally i dont believe anyone has "progressed" past pushrod design. the minute valve control gained isnt worth the huge penalty in rotating mass and overall weight due to ohc.

  • Hey don't diss pushrod. You are uneducated. Pushrod is a very good design. They haven't progressed passed it because there has been no progression past it. The pushrod has less moving parts so it is more reliable, efficient, and lighter. For lower RPM cars (under about 6700)it is better. The GT's engine can handle 1500hp with stock internals. It has been proven. And the GT40 was a much lighter car (1000lbs) due to minimal interior and no smog equipment.

  • Heffner really didn't have to do much to this car to make 1100 horsepower. He removed the supercharger, added two Garret ball bearing turbos, added his own intake manifold, and a new larger inter cooler. He didn't have to modify the rest of the 5.4 litre, because this was a racing engine, with racing everything inside. Hope that helps you.
