  • Thumbs Up if you think Purple Leg Pads at intr are sexy!

  • 1896 Stanley Cup playoffs?? what? the NHL wasn't organized until 1917

  • @MrRookie26 The Stanley Cup was originally a Challenge Cup that could be won by any amateur or professional hockey team if they challenged the current holder and won. It was first won in 1893 by the Montreal Hockey Club (not the Montreal Canadiens, they didn't come until 1909, and won their first Cup in 1916). The Stanley Cup was actually won several times a year for many years during the "Challenge Cup Era". This was from 1893 to 1914. In 1927 the Stanley Cup became the official NHL trophy.

  • god damn metric system...

  • ya know, out of all the anouncers on this show, i hate her the least

  • why are they so expensive and nice looking? these "Brassards"

  • i dont think ive seen anyone use ccm pads before

  • @SukMyJohn brodeur

  • @goflyersgo1 miller

  • No way anyone is paying 1,600 for ccm pads maybe reebok larcenys or Bauer one100 but ccms no way

  • @goaliesarehockey this was made in 2007

  • @goaliesarehockey what about vaughn 9500 vision

  • PU Leather? No wonder equipment stinks after playing.

  • 18 inch needle????

  • oh just roughly the weight of four elephants..

  • holy crap those pads are huge!!!!!! 36+1 haha thats freaking massive!!!!

  • 1996 pfft id like 2 believe dat

  • @ninjapenguin11 haha they had goalie pads in 1969!!!

  • lol shitty pads....its all about the Vaughn velocity v3

  • @goalieman121 True that bro

  • takes more than $1,600 to have a shut out in hockey

  • 0:46 LOL they couldn't decide between metric and imperial measurement system, so they used the "elephant" measurement system ;-)

  • i had to take exactly ONE minute of my life trying to figure out km > mi, or cm > in.

  • @videogamedude68 I hope you are joking...as Miles are bigger than Kms...

  • @Ducken i mean metres oops

  • It's hard to believe that goalie pads used to be made of leather, stuffed with cotton and horse hair. It took a long time to break them in too.

  • i love this show and it only gets better when hockeys involved

  • Cool!

  • Haha my pads were 1400. Pro leval tho so it makes sense

  • i got my itech for 100 good deal and new

  • 1600 i got mine for 250 and there bauers and I've had them for 3 years and still youse them.

  • by the way it's not 1996 it's 1908 lol

  • why do they gotta be so expensive!!!

thats another reason why im a forward

  • It's 1896...

  • their info is stupid because the winnipeg victorias didn't play in 1996 and goalie pads were invented way before that lol. Stupid efin tv show they suck lol

  • dam thats why there so expensive

  • when they say that the stiching is purely decorative it depends on the type of pad. For instance the Reebok 6k pad is decorative stitching withprinted on graphics. However, the Premier series II pad has separate pieces of leather stitched together. A much better piece of equipment but also more expensive.

  • Stitching is only decorative. It serves absolutely no purpose other than to give the pad a look. If you removed the stitching on a Premier II and went with a solid piece of jenpro it would perform exactly the same.

  • i went to this factory, in montreal, durring the can/am tournament. My coach was the guy who organized the deal between CCM and RBK.

  • holy!! that is a big needle at the end

  • wow

  • 2:20 Go Blue Jackets! haha

wow i never did know they were made like that

  • Now I know how my Goalie Pads were made ^.^ I love hockey! (BTW/ ITECH equipment PWNS Vaughn and CCM)

  • a damnable lie. vaughn FTW

  • vaughns the best

  • she says 1896...

  • WOW thats a lot of clamps? Goalies RULE!!!!!

  • Wow...they even have CCM logo on the sewing machine...

  • Very interesting !

  • Why are there so goddamned many How It's Made videos about hockey?

Hockey sticks, "pro" hockey sticks, hockey rinks, hockey gloves, goalie pads, hockey pucks...

  • it's a canadian show ;)

  • because hockey is the greatest sport ever :D

  • "since the pucks can fly at up to 160 km per hour!" wow, they really make hockey sound really safe, eh?

  • i wonder how they stop the puck before the discovery of puck

  • tryy....1896. and the survey says.......i'm right

  • ok the video beginning doesnt make any sense...she says in 1996 the guy used the pads in the stanley cup playoffs which isnt true cuz they had them before and then she says he was using cricket pads and that ice hockey pads werent made til the 1920's....dumb hoe

  • she said in 1896

  • no that's what she MEANT. but not what she said listen again buddy.

  • i definitely heard "1896" too. but that sentence is kind of badly written. like, "..he and those who followed him used cricket pads. wider pads, specifically for ice hockey, didn't come about until the 1920s." the period before 'wider pads' is very important and she probably should have paused longer.....

  • I listened too. She says 1896

  • u 2 can stop those sppeding pucks lol nice vid

  • omg thanks so much for uploading this!!!

  • Suh-weet
