An absolute gem of a song from a great band coupled with my one of my favourite films of all time you have blown me away bro if i had an award id send it round pronto lets just say that combination of beauty has made my day love@light
Mate i thought i was the only one that had this connection although in another way!!! Put the tracks FROM A LATE NIGHT TRAIN and BLADE RUNNER BLUES together and they fit almost perfectly!!!
Too true,I reckon great movies ALWAYS have exceptional soundtracks. Maybe Michael Mann should procure the expertise of Paul Buchanan for future movies. I really liked the ambient music in Heat & Collateral. Hans Zimmer really excelled in The Thin Red Line. In these times of compassion fatigue and social hardness it is good to get sensitive again. As Springsteen writes "its just winners and losers and don't get caught on the wrong side of that line." Bravo for YT posts showing elegance & beauty.
This is the only long version of this beautiful, hypnotic ,and mesmerizing song.
The other versions cut out the guitar playing and the final chorus at the end of this song, which I.M.O.,is the orgasm to this wonderful love making of music and video !
One of my favorite movies and one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands but 50% of why I love this movie is the sound track; thankyou Vangelis.
Thank you and everyone else recently who's comment similarly. I take no credit for the visuals or the music, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks they go well together.
Hats....The Blue Nile...I remember hearing this group on a college radio station in Atlanta when I was younger. I instantly fell in love with Paul Buchanan's vocals..
" Ardientes, los Ángeles se irguieron, y un trueno profundo rodó por sus costas; e iban abrasados por los fuegos de ORc. " ( William Blake, 1793 ). RL.
Your editing is nothing short of Hollywood - indeed it exceeds Oscar Quality Editing. The Choreography is perfect and you're right, that radio edit is so second rate. I'm glad you worked the long version. Never take it off Youtube.
wow brilliant concept. One of those things when u see them together u think "of course"...good work and has me thinking of other ones that could be done

Why'oh,why,Pretty awful stuff. You seem to have done a fine job in dating this film.I just watched it after ten years or so and have'nt heard 'hats' in pretty much the same amount of time.you silly silly person.
nickmoron1 oops was thay a typo (youve heard that before) anyway why slag this off.Its not doing any harm and its better than the 20 second crap that some people on yt think is entertainment.Saw your video btw, jury out on that one, music is good though.
PS: for those of you who haven't read Phillip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, pls do! (Blade Runner's based on this great SciFi novel). Go for it! And listen to Hats as you do!
Prod . . . this is one of the best clips I've seen in the past 10yrs! Wonderful images matched to some of the most stunning music of the past 40yrs! Thank you so much for sharing this with us all . . .
Superb, hats off to you my friend, i love seeing images and music put together well, it puts a different slant on things you love. YOU HAVE DONE A MANS JOB.......
Ahhh, thank you! Saw The Final Cut last night and the Vangelis music is obviously just lovely, but I couldn't stop thinking about The Blue Nile. Whatever... awesome, awesome flick.
Did you like the final cut? subtle differences, you could have a field day with the new vangelis bladerunner cd!, 2nd cd is unreleased tracks from the movie and cd3 is a brand new album from vangelis himself composing music inspired from Blade Runner!!
Great video! I'm a big fan of the film and of vangelis' music however, after watching this vid i'm begging to wonder if a couple of the scenes may have evoked more emotion if they had included softer and less electronic based music.
Bladerunner (in all its versions) is one of favourite films. The Blue Nile is my favourite band.
This video is a beautifully put together but The Blue Nile and Bladerunner don't mix well. The Downtown Lights is the wrong choice of track and does not match the bleakness of the film
I'm surprised you don't agree that Downtown Lights offers a similar bleak vision; 'sometimes I walk away, when all I really wanna do', 'how do I know you'll feel it?', 'rented rooms & rented cars'.
But for me, even more important is that both offer a degree of hope, a possibility of redemption; Deckard's final scenes with Rachel, 'the golden lights, the loving prayers'.
Still, at least we agree that both the film & band are awesome!
I'm probably biased because I think the Vangelis music fits the film so well and it would be difficult to beat.
I did think when I wrote the original post that 'From a Midnight Train' would be a better choice,as it is bleaker than the Downtown Lights and seems to fit the mood of the film.
By the way I just looked at your Edward Hopper-v-Blue Nile and it is brilliant. Hoppers Work amd the Blue Nile compliment each other perfectly.
Well done... Top tune... Great working

Final Cut - awesome, but all versions are awesome soooo.... Differences are a bit 'so what' but it's just great seeing it on the big screen again.
I don't think I'd be that bothered about the whole new Vangelis Cd. Might try though.
As for this - pretty low tech. Used Fraps to rip from CD (great tool) and MemoriesOnWeb to pull it together. MOW is great, low tech but great.
